Call me crazy, I would do both, I think it looks great the way the orange and brown blend, then would use a multicolor binding, using all three in the binding. But again that is just me. I think for a baby it would be different and something that would attract.

I was told to always use the color that was used the least. It will make the quilt pop.
Pick up the blue in the blocks. This quilt doesn't have to be too big as babies aren't that big!
Definitely the orange, it makes the whole quilt really bright and cheerful :)
I agree with Scissor Queen. You need a small something to separate the quilt from the border. A narrow blue border 1" to 1 1/2" would be perfect and then the orange. Your border should be divisible by your block i.e. if your block is 6" your border should be 2" or 3". If our block is 12", your border should be 3", 4" or 6". You get the idea.

I think whatever you do, will be stunning....and loved. I can't wait to see the finished product! Love the inspector, as well....lol.

Orange for sure! I like the idea of a small blue with the orange, then brown binding.
Looks like she is taking a very close look at the work - good job inspector!!!! :)
Very pretty quilt - I'd go with orange for the border |

I like the brown. Remember that a child cannot identify colors until taught. If you have ever given a child a box of crayons before they learn colors, they invariably will pick out the darker colors.

I agree=use both colors on opposite sides~~
My vote is for the orange, makes the blocks look like they are floating. And bright is just right. Then bind it in brown or blue. Fun and great pattern for the new little one.
ditto on the orange border and brown for the binding.
Orange, I think, and I love your fur baby/inspector!!!
I like the orange best.
I think you need the blue border (to really make it pop)first, then the orange and I would have brown on the outside because that is where it will be handled the most and the brown will not show dirt etc.
Beautiful quilt and quilt inspector.
I liked the idea of a tiny blue border before the orange then bind in brown.
I like the orange.
I really like multiple borders. I say try them both, a little smaller than you normally would. I would even add another color from the quilt. Lucky baby!
You've had plenty of advice, so I'll just tell you I really like your quilt top!

I also agree- add some of the blue fabric in the border.

Orange for a baby.
I think I would finish it up and give it your cat instead. He/she loves it! It is very pretty.
I agree. Either the brown or the orange blend into the quilt. I think you need a different border to seperate it. Blue would be very appealing! Blue and orange are opposites on the color wheel (what's that called?) and blue mixed with orange make brown, so blue would be perfect! How's that for logic!?!?
