I think I'd put 4 large bears together in the center of the quilt, then a couple borders or some 9 patch blocks made from other coordinating fabric until it became the size you wanted - then use the smaller bears in strips as the last border. If I had any leftover I'd make pillow cases too :D

I think fussy cutting the bears and using a block like Hole in the Barn Door would be really cute.

It does not matter if the block is a rectangle or a square.

Put a pretty red heart fabric in as sashing and quilt hearts over all of it.

Please show us the quilts after you are finished. I'm sure whatever you and your girls decide will be beautiful.

What about using it for backing so you don't have to cut it up into piecing sizes.

I agree - keep it whole and add a border. Would be a shame to cut it up or fussy cut it, you would lose to much fabric.
