Oh I like the idea of a nice basket with FQs....what quilter wouldn't love that!!!!!

I like QuiltMania's idea of a little basket full of fat quarters, or maybe you could make her some mug rugs.

A hostess gift is typically something for the house, not just for the hostess to have for herself. I’d go with a good bottle of wine presented in a unique bag that you made. That way you could all enjoy the wine together and she’d have a special wine bag to use when she entertains.

There are lots of different patterns available online and you can make it uniquely ‘you’ with the fabric choices, embellishments, and the like. They are relatively quick and easy to make yet show a lot of thought. Add something that is especially meaningful to her…perhaps some wine glass charms that bring back memories you share. The charms make great embellishments and can be removed and used easily.

Have a great visit with your sister! :D

I'd be on top of the world with a basket of FQs.

One can never have too many potholders especially quilted ones.

I agree, the hostess gift should be a gift for the home. The wine bottle idea sounds like a great one! So does the casserole carrier. I just made my first one of those last month for a wedding. Super quick and easy!

Just looking around my own kitchen and thinking what I would like...

An apron made in her kitchen colors and in a pattern you know she'll like. A Hot pad to match the apron. That wine bottle cover someone already mentioned, to match the apron.
I like the casserole carrier, matching the apron, one that's heavily insulated.

Not quilt related, but one of my old favorites is the scrubbable magnetic grocery pad that hangs on the side of my fridge.

yep, I agree that a casserole and nice carrier or his and her aprons if they BBQ, oven mitts or if they do drink a wine bag . a basket with nice soaps and a set of hand towels. I personally think every 10 yrs of marriage should warrent a bridal shower to replace towels! lol

Buy a pretty cup or mug & put fat quarters in it & make a little mug rug.
