I need ideas on how to make a vanishing design wall?

I was thinking of putting it on the back of a door or over the closet doors.

Have you seen these? They have one at my local quilt shop. It's basically a pull down shade. You could probably make it quite easily with a shade from somewhere like Home Depot.

Yes, it could be done easily. My friend and I really looked at them closely and it wouldn't be hard to do at all. I'm thinking of putting one over my closet doors.

Ah, that vanishing design wall sure looks nice. I don't have a design wall at all. I usually lay the pieces on the floor, which has several disadvantages. You have to climb up on a chair to get the full view or take a picture. But even more disturbingly is my young cat who rightfully regards the floor as his playing field.... you can imagine the rest, I'm sure! :)

I put a tension rod up in front of my sliding closet doors. I use shower hooks and the Fons & Porter design wall that looks like a shower curtain (Connecting Threads had it on sale when I got it). I have very little space to sew, and can't keep set up all the time...I have to improvise! :)

Sounds like the tension rod would be easiest? I think so.

I do have a blank wall, we put a 1" x 4" lenght of wood close to the ceiling, painted it the same as the wall. Then stapled an older cream color flannel sheet to it. The sheet is easily pinned into. It has been wonderul.

Done this before the wall: Lay a bed sheet on a large bed, lay out and pin pieces to that. You can roll this up, and it can be spread out aain on the bed when you need to have it.

Still, I do like the tension rod idea! :thumbup:
