Which layout and border is better?

dreile 06-30-2013 04:18 PM

Sorry they are flipped sideways, don't know how that happened. But thanks for your opinions in advance!

sahm4605 06-30-2013 04:22 PM

i like the green but maybe needs a thin yellow first to help break it up but that is just me.

yngldy 06-30-2013 04:24 PM

To me, the green is soothing, the pink makes it pop more. So, it depends on what you want to accomplish, or who is getting the quilt.

EdieClay 06-30-2013 04:27 PM

I like the pink the better.

Podunk Princess 06-30-2013 04:32 PM

My preference is the green one. I like the way the colors are all balanced in that one.

EthelLou 06-30-2013 04:34 PM

I like the pink.

Sunlover53 06-30-2013 04:48 PM

I like the pink border. I think with the first one that much pink takes the focus away from the other strips in your quilt.

dreile 06-30-2013 04:59 PM

I was gonna do a Jelly Roll Race with this jelly roll but when I opened it up there were only 6 different fabrics. So trying to do the best I can with it. Do you think I could have done the jelly roll race with so much repetition in the fabrics?

petthefabric 06-30-2013 05:02 PM

I like the green because it looks like a complete quilt. The pink looks like 4 groups with sashing.
I like the pink because it's happier. In the green the pink strips almost look like bars.

barny 06-30-2013 05:03 PM

Well, either one is very, very pretty. Do which one you like.

ArtsyOne 06-30-2013 05:04 PM

I like the second one:)

IrishNY 06-30-2013 05:10 PM

I like the green one. The pink one looks unfinished somehow.

Delta 06-30-2013 05:17 PM

if you really really want the orange to stand out use the first one and the green stands out in the second one I like them both.

CarolynMT 06-30-2013 05:19 PM

why not use both? 1/2 the borders in green and 1/2 in the pink. :) then you can strip piece the binding as well......give it a different look

I agree with this. Also liked the previous idea of a narrow yellow border before the pink or green border.

leatheflea 06-30-2013 05:57 PM

My vote is pink, its stops the quilt.

Jingle 06-30-2013 05:57 PM

I like the green border.

0tis 06-30-2013 05:58 PM

Green is my favorite color - but I really like the second photo - looks red or pink - that's the one I like.

Auntevie 06-30-2013 06:23 PM

I AGONIZE over these decisions. Sometimes these decisions can drive me CRAZY, lol! But, Imo, i think I would do more then one border. I like both layouts..both are great! But I think a multiple border would frame your center, give it cohesiveness, and finish it.

Dina 06-30-2013 07:06 PM

I like the green the best. You have so many votes for each color....so that makes it seem that either color would work just fine. Good luck on your decision.

I agree with yngldy. Both are good but what is your preference for the room or person the quilt is going to?

QuiltnNan 07-01-2013 03:27 AM

i'm partial to the red, but either would work.

Annie68 07-01-2013 04:05 AM

I like the pink

northerncreations 07-01-2013 05:06 AM

Like the pink much better than the green. it brings the quilt to life.

tessagin 07-01-2013 05:18 AM

Difficult choice but I think I like the red.

Well said.

nativetexan 07-01-2013 06:08 AM

you know, I like the green border and layout better. it took me a minute.

huntannette 07-01-2013 06:15 AM

I prefer the pink!

frenchfryqueen 07-01-2013 06:26 AM

I prefer the pink/red border.

mighty 07-01-2013 06:53 AM

I like the green best!

bjchad 07-01-2013 07:06 AM

I like the pink border better. I think the arrangement of the strips is better in that one and the pink border makes the other colors pop.

sandy l 07-01-2013 09:20 AM

How would it look if you put a thin solid blue, then finish it with the green?

Debbie C 07-02-2013 03:00 AM

IMHO, I would personally like to see a line of thin dark solid before putting the outside border on. I truly believe it would frame and make your beautiful quilt pop even more.

klgls 07-02-2013 03:21 AM

I'm leaning toward the pink border. Fun quilt either way!

nhweaver 07-02-2013 03:39 AM

I like the green the best, but I do think a yellow or white thin strip would showcase your beautiful quilt.

Retired Fire Chief 07-02-2013 04:03 AM

I vote for the green, just my preference, I think it looks more "complete" than the pink.

cjaneky 07-02-2013 04:07 AM

the pink perks it up

SueDor 07-02-2013 04:13 AM

I like them both. I do agree with sahm4605 that maybe a little yellow would be nice.

damaquilts 07-02-2013 04:19 AM

I think for the first time ever I like both border options. But I think I like the second lay out better
