Wow! Leesa! You have been doing some beautiful work!! I agree with leaving it as it is and just add the binding. And the dresdens will make another gorgeous quilt.
|
What a beautiful quilt top! When I saw the 1st pic, I immediately pictured a large black border to finish it off with, to make the quilt larger. No dresdens, just a plain border, with maybe a red or black binding. Yes, I'd save those other dresdens for another quilt, too.

I'm with the majority. The quilt is beautiful as it is. I don't think the dresden plates work with the rest of the quilt because the quilt uses the bold solid colors of each part to create the pattern while the dresden plates have a black and white print in them. If you want to go larger I would continue the theme of the three solids you've already chosen.

I like it as it is. How about if you put the Dresdens on the backing? I love quilts that give a surprise when you look at the back.

I, too, love it as it is!!!

That's what i think, the dresdans seem to be the start of another great quilt.

Well I also agree I love what you have without the plates. For me I think it's the modern unscalloped (is that a word) edges being so different than the plates in the quilt.

I would not add those DPs to the top....if you need to make larger...maybe a strip border do red, white, black mitered at corners would be a good frame. Jmho

The quilt as it is, is so very pretty.

Because the original "hearts and gizzards" is so crisp and pretty, I would stop there. Beautiful work.
