Welcome from McCalla, Alabama. Your Dresden Plate looks beautiful. Is the picture of the one you just made, or the example? Love it, haven't tried the DP pattern yet. I still very new to different patterns.

I copied this link a few weeks back from the Missouri Quilt Co. It is youtube and I found it interesting and helpful. Maybe it can help you find the answers - or create more questions that you can ask here. Good luck.

Welcome from Missouri. I haven't been on here very long either, but I can tell you that everyone really makes you feel welcome. I think your placemat is pretty.

You want to do it in quarters(3 wedges) then join 2 so that you have a half, then join the halves. You have to be careful to keep a consistent 1/4 inch seam, or it won't lay flat or fit together properly.

I think it is very pretty to me. The only thing I may see is all plate parts aren't equal but noone but a quilter will see that. I wouldn't do a thing to it. Beautiful job for a new quilter.

Welcome from Murrells Inlet, SC. Wish I could help you with how to do the placemat, could you ask the person who did the one you are showing in the picture? Merry Christmas

Welcome from Chattanooga, Tennessee Glad to have you. I am just finishing a queen size Dresden Plate Quilt and you will not have any problems just get the ruler and It makes all sizes small and large like the one in your picture. You can get the pointed top or round top. Lots of luck. Gail

Welcome Mrsbonnie to the board from Northern California where the sun is out but the temperature is 50. I would rather it snowy because then the moisture is frozen and it does not feel as cold. The placemat is pretty, with character.
