I just got mine this morning. I got it from quilt in a day preordered from last month. It is the Sew Easy brand. I will try it and let you know if it is worth it.

I have the Fiskars and like it quite well. I find it's best for cutting strips. I usually grab another ruler if I'm cutting into smaller squares or triangles. It's very easy to use. I got mine at Joann's with a 50% off coupon.

Thank you everyone for your responses! Not sure I will jump on the bandwagon just yet as I just purchased the Quilters Slidelock ruler set. But, it just may be something I can't live without down the road!!

I have the slide lock too. It's okay. I'm not sure it's worth the cost but I have it so I'll use it.

Gale; I wish I would have known about the Fiskar's & Sew Easy ruler/cutter combo BEFORE buying the slidelock. I LOVE the slidelock very much but was actually looking for the ruler/cutter combo.... the only ones I had found were the Quilt Cut 2 and the AccuQuilt systems... oh well.... live and learn!

I have the Sew Easy and I really like it for quilt fabrics that exceed 44-45" in width. I guess I would use it more but I LOVE my Martelli rotary cutter so much that it is my go-to ruler for almost everything I cut. I also have a dusty Accuquilt GO! Hope this helps.

Using this would mean that your rotary cutter wouldn't have the chance to slip away from the ruler, so that might be an advantage. But I would want to practice with it before purchasing, since I'm not sure the pressure on the blade would be right, or that the depth setting would be easy to select or change. I'd be interested in seeing it at a quilt show.
