A new ruler/cutter??

I just received an email from Nancy's Notions this morning. The main item showcased is a ruler/cutter combined. It's 27'1/2" long so you can cut WOF strips, and it can cut 6 layers at once! Has anyone used this?? Looks sensational and gets great reviews! Sort of reminds me of the Quilt Cut 2 w/o the heavy board..just the ruler. I will be interested to see if anyone has used this and what your impression was.

Doesn't say the brand, but there are several of these on the market. Fiskars has one and so does Havel's. Some people like them, some don't. Here a post from a couple days ago.

I just bought it because of your post. I don't own a cutting machine or anything like it, so I figure I can afford to buy this ruler/cutter. Thanks for letting us know. I think it will be great for me! I love to cut sometimes and hate it other times. This will come in handy!!! I love this board!

Since quilting fabric tends to be 45" wide at the most, half that is less than 24", the length of the standard rulers. Why do they think we need it wider? Using this would mean that your rotary cutter wouldn't have the chance to slip away from the ruler, so that might be an advantage. But I would want to practice with it before purchasing, since I'm not sure the pressure on the blade would be right, or that the depth setting would be easy to select or change. I'd be interested in seeing it at a quilt show.

I'm left handed. Does this ruler (or any that have been discussed) have numbering, etc. set up both directions and a cutter that slides easily from either direction? Just curious. I have a list of things that are almost impossible to use by the lefthanded, yet perfectly good for others. Joyce in DE.

I'm not fond of the one I have. I have difficulty knowing where the accurate measurements are. One of the LQS use it for cutting fabric. Not one of my better purchases.

it looks like it's 26 inches and can't tell if marked on both sides. I doubt it but you could call them and ask.
