Sounds good if it works, I would buy one.

AnnaK, would you be willing to do a tutorial using yours? Or just a post if you'd rather? I turned mine to the right, pressing as hard as I could. I couldn't tell any difference after (unless maybe the blade seemed a bit duller). I researched before I bought. There were those it didn't work for and those who loved it. I would like to be able to benefit from having it. For now, I continue slicing through aliminum foil recycled from kitchen use. It does work for me. |
Does the aliminum foil really help? I've heard of this for sharpening scissors but have never tried it. I used to throw my old blades away, but recently started saving them. (only have 2 so far) With the cost of blades, I'm willing to try anything.

I've used 000 and 0000 sandpaper to sharpen my scissors but never thought to try aluminum foil for them or my rotary cutter. I'll have to try it when I get home. Thanks |
The foil does work. I keep it on my small rotary mat and slice through it several times. More if I am not satisfied with it yet. The small mat makes it easier to trash the shavings.
I have not been successful using my r/blade sharpener. It did come with directions (I mis-stated it didn't, sorry) but I have not been able to sharpen a blade. |
Thank you for this information! Off to find my foil and put some in my cutting room!
PS - Where is Crump, TN? East? |
let us know if you like it, thanks
