I will be careful!!! Great solutions.

I have put blocks, strips on my quilt backs but only to make the backing big enough or to be creative. I always tear packages open or cut tape with scissors. A big part of sewing anything is knowing how to 'fix' screw ups.

Thanks to you, I also will be very carefull now.

Gratefully no, not to fabric but I did cut into my tea bag today cuz I wanted to save the fancy, pretty sleeve that it was in, snipped off the bottom of both. I wasn't happy but your boo boo trumps mine big time. I'm sure that your creativity will make a wonderful quilt anyway.

That's what applique is for! Or you could put the label over that part. Ask me how I know!!

Whoa that must have hurt! Thanks for the reminder toi be verrrry careful when opening an envelope with a knife.
|
We often have this happen as the customs agent opens every package with a box cutter!!! It is so frustrating but does make for some interesting fixes!
|
I do not use one of those knives for opening the packages. I usually try to open an end. So sorry, but your quilt will be specially yours.

Oh I did - not on material but on a red tie for my DH. He rarely likes red in his ties, and I found THE PERFECT one - and paid dearly. I gleefully cut the top of the package. I know how you feel! All it takes is one time and you learn that lesson!
