This morning one of the ladies that works at my LQS called. She was letting me know she was going to be at a basketball game at a high school about 10 miles from me (my LQS is about 60 miles from me). She wanted to know if there was anything at the shop I needed her to bring me since she was coming this way. How nice is that?!

There's something about being made to feel special and appreciated that makes you want to keep doing business with folks! :D

frugalfabrics 01-14-2011 04:42 PM

love it when a shop is able to go out of their way and do nice things like that. Those big corporate stores don't know how good that makes us feel.

maryb119 01-14-2011 04:42 PM

WOW! That is customer service!

sharon b 01-14-2011 04:45 PM

Care to share the name of the shop ? Love to spread the word of GREAT customer service

skillon 01-14-2011 04:46 PM

So, Rachel, was there anything that you wanted her to bring you???

Boxer mom 01-14-2011 04:49 PM

That is great service. There are 4 shops I know of and have gone to, and to me they make me feel that unless you are a regular they are not as friendly to you. There is one that the the last time I was there they were so rude that I will nver go again. I seem to go to one more that the rest. Most of the LQS have there classes in the week and in the middle of the day and the classes are too expensive for me. Give them a pat on the back for their service and be sure to tell your friends.

That is great customer service. That is the LQS where I would spend my money for sure. My favorite shop even cuts the fabric for some of the ladies (usually elderly or with some issue that makes it hard for them to cut). I don't think they even charge to do it.

I do need some batting and backing for a quilt top I have done, but I need to bring some scraps in to match up the backing fabric.

The shop is called Bernina Sewing Etc. in Ridgeland, MS. It's a wonderful shop and I couldn't begin to say enough nice things about the employees, owners and merchandise.

hperttula123 01-14-2011 05:18 PM

What a wonderful quilt shop. My shop will call me when new collections come in that they think I will like. Very special.

mollymct 01-14-2011 06:37 PM

That is wonderful!! I truly appreciate good customer service...and that is far beyond just "good"! I have not yet been able to visit the Bernina shop on my flying trips through Jackson, but will make my way there very soon.

littlehud 01-14-2011 07:10 PM

Wow, you just don't see that happening anymore. What a great lady.

marthe brault-hunt 01-15-2011 04:10 AM

There is only a quilting shop on Montreal island, The owner always has her vendor booth at our exhibition, about a month before she calls our organizer and ask for our shopping needs. This is greatly appreciated by our groupé

lol Sounds great to me. I used to visit the bookmobile that came to our very small resort town. Just think of how our stashes would grow.

Fran Juern 01-15-2011 04:48 AM

Seems like a great store to shop in, BUT---- I think this sales also deserves a pat on the back (or a Hug) This is a good example of Pay It Forward!

That is super service! Thats what I love about the South and smaller towns~..maybe one of us should start a delivery service for quilters!

craftymatt2 01-15-2011 07:20 AM

I just love the customer service you get from small towns like that, reminds me of when Drs. did house calls. Great service that is.

Lady Jane 01-15-2011 07:23 AM

Now that is Southern with a Smile !

mimee4 01-15-2011 07:24 AM

Cheers to that LQS. Give them our love and respect for being so caring.

AnnieH 01-15-2011 07:32 AM

Did she have enough room in her car Rachel????

stichinluvr 01-15-2011 07:49 AM

Wow! That is great customer service. I'd be giving her all my business. You don't find that many places.

OmaForFour 01-15-2011 08:16 AM

My LQS lady is like that too. She has really gone out of her way to get certain items I have needed and is always available to help me with a problem.

Tweety2911 01-15-2011 01:12 PM

Great customer service.

G'ma Kay 01-15-2011 02:20 PM

I'll bet you spend a little bit of money in there, don't you?

LoL, just a little. :D In the process of buying my second machine from them and get 80% of my fabric from their shop. I socialize quite a bit there as well.

penski 01-15-2011 04:26 PM

now that is custmer appreciation! something you dont find much of these days

Terryl 01-15-2011 04:41 PM

That's wonderful, I was in Meridian, MS last week and went to "The Sewing & Vacuum Center" on 22nd Ave. South and got excellent customer service. I asked the young man (teenager) working there to add an inch to the yardage to make up for wonky cutting and he graciously did so, then remarked that the cut at the beginning was quite crooked. Love shopping where they appreciate us.

OneMoreQuilt 01-15-2011 04:42 PM

That was awfully nice.

Shelgar 01-15-2011 04:49 PM

Wow!!!! That is awesome . You are one lucky lady and that is one great LQS.
