Here are a couple of pictures of some mini quilts that were on display at the Pacific West Quilt show a few weeks ago. I was using my phone, so the photos are really bad. But get a gander at that tiny hand quilting and piecing! Those are for real.

Beachbound 09-09-2011 06:46 PM

wow! that's unbelievable, glad you put your finger there for scale. It sure is impressive!

paper piecing. I have a few blocks that are that small as well. They are really fun to do, and bring on loads of compliments!

Kas 09-09-2011 06:55 PM

I was wondering if it was paper piecing. I forgot the lady's name! I want to say her last name was Collins, but I don't know. There was a whole wall of her works. I was kicking myself for not bringing the real camera, but it is just too heavy on my neck for that long.

dltaylor 09-09-2011 06:57 PM

yeh,now that is tiny

Blue Bell 09-09-2011 06:57 PM

Wow! Amazing!

BETTY62 09-09-2011 06:57 PM

How on earth did they get that much detail on something so small? They are awesome.

trisha 09-09-2011 06:57 PM

who does that???LOL I admire anyone who can do that stuff, but boy I sure could not.

wuv2quilt 09-09-2011 07:10 PM

Could it be Sally Collins? She has written several books, one of which is nothing but miniatures. Her website is here:

http://www.sallycollins.org/

Check out her gallery!

There's also some pictures of her quilts on this blog. You get a great sense of perspective here!

Lord have mercy! Paper on top of tiny pieces and tiny stitches?. Not this gal!

oksewglad 09-09-2011 07:52 PM

Can you imagine HQ these? I sew little pieces, but just can't HQ them. Beautiful, simply beautiful.
Peckish, I too thought of Sally Collins. Thanks for the links.

Kas 09-09-2011 07:52 PM

Yes! That is her name! Thanks, Peggi. Another reason to love this place. I am going to check out her site right now. I'm back.

#5 down and #11 down on the quiltharvest site were the ones I posted. So incredible.

OneMoreQuilt 09-09-2011 08:27 PM

That's amazing!!!

snipforfun 09-09-2011 08:35 PM

My first thought was Sally Collins. She does precision piecing, not paper piecing. I took classes from her last year and it was amazing how much I learned. Her book is wonderful.
