Beautiful quilt! I'm thinking of trying it for a potholder and/or table topper for starters.

lillybeck 04-20-2011 05:56 AM

I need this pattern like I need another hole in my head but, I really love this one.

krafty14 04-20-2011 06:00 AM

Neat, I will have to look for that pattern.

grandjan 04-20-2011 06:11 AM

That's really cute. I think this is one I'd want to paper piece though.

zoeytoo 04-20-2011 06:26 AM

This pattern has so many possibilities.

hoppa 04-20-2011 06:26 AM

That pattern is really cool. Doesn't look like it would be hard to do, just sew a strip to one side, square off with the two adjoining sides and keep going around until all sides are stitched on, then start over with the next row. Might just have to try this one.

Ziva 04-20-2011 06:32 AM

I really like this pattern.

Linda1 04-20-2011 06:33 AM

I really like that. I have to keep telling myself to not start another quilt.

vasallese 04-20-2011 06:35 AM

This is going in my book of quilts I REALLY, REALLY intend to make. It is really neat. Becky Dye Cogan is ingenious to have come up with this pattern. Thanks.

cowgirlquilter 04-20-2011 06:39 AM

The link above shows great pictures of how to do the sashing strips.

Well call me lazy :-D :-D
I think I wouldn't cut all the little strips.I would just cut on long strip ,and then sew it on and cut it,and repeat it all the way around.
Did that make sense what I just said???
:-D

silver queen 04-20-2011 06:43 AM

I love it! A nice twist to the log cabin.

Leann 04-20-2011 06:44 AM

Thanks! I love this!

MissJMac 04-20-2011 06:47 AM

GEEZ, I love this!!!!!! I haven't seen it before, but it looks perfect for a paper-pieced project. Printing it off now, going to make it soon. love it, love it, love it.
So simple, so beautiful, endless possibilities - Even one bed-sized block with an interesting assortment of fabrics.
Wow!

Deborahlees 04-20-2011 06:48 AM

It is kinda like how you do a crazy quilt, except with that you start with a 5 sided in the center, and just work in a circle. I would assume you would do it on a foundation piece of muslin, would be easier sewing....

3TreeFrog 04-20-2011 06:50 AM

I HAVE to make it! I prefer this to the Pineapple block!

You aren't crazy! I thought the same thing and I am going to try it that way. The pattern uses 1 3/4" strips, I wonder if you could use 2 1/2" strips which is the size I have cut. I am going to try it.

cinnya 04-20-2011 08:50 AM

Go for it and please show us.I would have already tried it, but I am in the middle of painting my room(((which would be done already if I would stay off the computer  )))

RDM 04-20-2011 08:50 AM

Nice blocks. Will you PP them? Looks like fun.

RDM 04-20-2011 08:58 AM

Thanks for the pattern link. Yes now another project.

BellaBoo 04-20-2011 08:58 AM

No way I'll cut all those strips to fit. I'd sew and then cut them off like other posters said to do. I'm using my Go hex die to make the center hex. I think this will be a great scrap project.

Jammin' Jane 04-20-2011 09:11 AM

Awesome quilt!

beachcombr09 04-20-2011 09:25 AM

saw it on simply quilts w/ alex anderson a few years ago, only she continued with only 1 octagon and made it into a spider web for halloweem quilt - have made a few of them as "tablecloths' and they turn out adorable - as soon as I figure out how, I will post a pix of 1

Ann912 04-20-2011 09:38 AM
