I know what you mean. I have a Batik fetish. I LOVE Batiks. :-D :-D :-D

You don't have to spend a fortune if you are willing to shop around! Thousands of Bolts has many batiks around $5/yd. Also Marshall Dry Goods. Some of the other popular sites will have sales and sometimes everyday lower prices than the LQS would. Fabric Depot is one that you can usually get under $7 or so.

I love love love batiks too - I dream of having a room lined with bolts of it..... only a dream. It is good to know where they can be found more reasonably priced. Love the pics!

I'm hooked too. My problem is I hate to cut them up. Takes me a long time to part with them.

OOOOH Batiks. I am a needle turn appliquer and you just cant beat batiks for easy of turning. Here are a few batik items I've done. First is pieced. Others are blocks I am putting into a king quilt. Working on it for 3 years and ready forthe border of 32 individual 12" blocks all done by hand and hand quilting.
