Brother. I love them. Cheap enough to replace! I have one almost 10 years old with at least 60 or 70 fancy stitches., a newer one with over 100 stitches, for less than $300.00. But I have at least 25 machines and found the Brothers are really the best buy for the $.

I have the Brother innovis 1250D, many fancy stitches, has quilting capability and embroiders as well, had it since 2010 and absolutely NO problems. Love it.

I love my new Janome 8900 and the best part about it is the authorized repair agent is also the owner of the LQS I go to all the time.

I have the Janome 6600. I would never purchase any brand machine unless I had local service and support. The first year I had this particular Janome (it is my 3rd Janome), I had it in over and over because I was having trouble with backlash. I was using Gutermann thread and finally figured out my machine did not like that particular brand. I later discovered a product called Magic Bobbin Washers which fixed that problem totally. I love this Janome. It's not an embroidery machine, but it does anything else I could ask of it. Definitely a workhorse, and I love my local Janome dealer.

If money was no object, I would have a Bernina 830 which runs about $12, 000 - 13, 000. here in Canada & I'm not sure if that includes the extra software that runs about $2, 300. It is a combination sewing/embroidery machine. I have the Bernina 820 but it does only minimal embroidery. I can dream though !!!

I have a Janome, BabyLock, and Viking. I love them all.

I use my Janomes (8900 and 10001), as well as my vintage Singers. I have 2 FWs, a 15-91, a 66, a 99 and a 27 in treadle. I also have 15 clones. I love my Janomes, but the only Singer I'd ever consider buying would be vintage.

Good for you! When we were first married in 1976 ny hubby went and bought me a Kenmore sewing machine. At that time I was working full time and didn't try to sew much. Had some troubles with it but always thought it was something I was doing. Then I had a few years off when I did not work and that machine...I still regret not taking a sledge hammer to it. I put it in Good Will and have felt guilty about it every since. Tried to hem a cotton shirt for my daughter, worked about an hour trying to get it to sew, ended up sewing it by hand...that is when I decided to do what my husband kept after me to do and that was buy a good machine...by then it was about 1991 and I got Pfaff Tiptronic 1171....that machine would and still would sew anything. But not good for free motion quilting in my opinion. Just not enough room to the right of the needle.

I bought a used Viking #1 for the embroidery stitches...and then a few years ago I bought a Juki 98Q and absolutely, totally love that machine even though it is straight stitch only...and now if I ever got another fancy stitch machine I would check out other Jukis. My daughter has my Pfaff...just cause I wanted to keep the Viking for the fancy stitches...not that I use them much. But also, that Pfaff just always sews...felt like she would never have problems with it.

I have a Bernina and I love it. Mine is the 800 series - complete with embroidery module. I would never sew on anything else. I'm totally spoiled by this machine. Course I have a dealer here in town so get all kinds of tips and tricks from him. Never had a problem with my Bernina.

Hope you get your machine issues resolved quickly. It isn't fun to be without your machine.
