BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what to do about the back but I love the quilt!

John Flynn has a method of cutting the backing fabric to make it longer and wider. Here is the link that provides the details. I have used this method before and it really works. It does take a little math, but if you use his formula you should have no problem. www.flynnquilt.com/media/uploads/2009/04/.../diagonalpb1103.pdf

Anything ggoes on the back, but I think I would try to use a color that is in the front

Beautiful quilt. I don't always match the backing to the front, in fact very seldom. Most times I try to use fabric I don't think I will use in another quilt.

I definitely want to do s French braid now. Thanks for the inspiration.

Recently I ran into the same problem with the backing not being big enough to allow for the eight inches the long arm quilter needed. The backing was big enough for the quilt top with about two inches to spare. I cut a wide strip of muslin and sewed it to the backing. This gave the quilter sufficient materiel to put the muslin on the rollers and it worked out perfectly. When I got the quilt back from the quilter, I trimmed the quilt and the muslin never showed. It just gave the quilter the extra fabric she needed for the rollers. If you don't mind which way the grain of the fabric on the runs (up and down, or crosswise), this might work for you. Just a thought.

Even if the cross on the back quilts a bit off...won't matter...it will still look great!
|
Why not use the cross on the back - you will have totally reversible quilt - 2 for 1.
