I have a cabinet, 3 drawers on the left and double door storage on the right. I spent about 2 hours cleaning it out AND finding a place and putting everything away.
I went and took a shower and by the time I came back my wife ad it filled with HER stuff!! Now I ask you..is this fair or what??
<~Venting LOL
David

np3 01-04-2011 11:04 AM

I'm sure it was fair. She filled it with fabric, right?

amma 01-04-2011 11:05 AM

cjomomma 01-04-2011 11:06 AM

LMBO!!! All I can say is that's a woman for you. There is no such thing as empty space. If a sign isn't there telling us to back off then it's ours.

Jim's Gem 01-04-2011 11:47 AM

dkabasketlady 01-04-2011 11:53 AM

I think you need to get another cabinet just for you, but tell her that this one's just for you!!!

featherweight 01-04-2011 12:55 PM

Solution: Buy her a cabinet of her very own and maybe she will stay out of yours. Problem solved!!!

quiltinggrandmaca 01-04-2011 01:53 PM

That's just too funny. As the saying goes "you snooze, you lose"

His and hers fabric cabinets...hmmmmm. Don't think that would work for me, all his fabric would be MY fabric and MY fabric is off limits! Soooo glad hubby and I don't share the same hobby

sweet 01-04-2011 02:30 PM

LOL!!!! :)

Is that kind of like, his stuff is ours, and mine is mine????

crashnquilt 01-04-2011 02:59 PM

Go to Lowe's and buy yourself one of those really nice tool boxes on wheels. The ones I saw even had stereos and refrigerators in them. Then store all your fabric in the toolbox, lock it and hide the key!

When you are ready to sew, just wheel it into the sewing room and dig in!

chickadeee55 01-04-2011 03:02 PM

Too funny. You could install a lock on your drawers to keep her out!

peabee 01-04-2011 03:18 PM

fair

craftymatt2 01-04-2011 03:26 PM

That just sooooo made me laugh. What a cute story. Woman are soooooo territorial. I know because i am one

maine ladybug 01-04-2011 03:48 PM

Maybe you could gently remind her about sharing. And then suggest that you could each use 1/2 of the space??

kateyb 01-04-2011 03:55 PM

My husband and I stay out of each others storage space. We each have to keep our own spaces cleaned up. When I fold cloths he has to put his stuff away and vice versa.
Something we started 40 years ago and continue. He felt it was his private space and I have just honored that, he honors my space.
If we decide something is shared space we work that out.

sewwhat85 01-04-2011 04:09 PM

lol

tjradj 01-04-2011 04:11 PM

Next time, buy a cabinet with a lock!

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 01-04-2011 04:34 PM

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.......... shoulda put all your stuff away before that shower. LOL Go get another cabinet and put your stash away FIRST before you go do something else.

earthwalker 01-04-2011 04:38 PM

We divided our "work room" in half...no lines painted on the floor, but nothing sneaks over the invisible centre line! We can still spend time together...he paints and draws, I quilt and catch up here. Works a treat.

There is a reason why possession is 9/10ths of the law. I would repossess if proper payment is not made.

What a great idea!

Fairness has nothing to do with is... it's all about physics.. you know... Nature abhors a vacuum???

Tropical 01-04-2011 05:07 PM

I don't think it was very nice and certainly not fair. My husband (of 46.5 years)and I respect each others' space and we share very nicely, too. Why don't you tell her how you feel and let her know you want it back.

Exactly.

CarrieAnne 01-04-2011 05:26 PM

lol!

emmamarie 01-04-2011 06:54 PM

DON'T BE A SAD LOSER.SMILE AND PUT YOUR FABRIC IN A BOX UNTIL YOU GET ANOTHER CABINET.MAYBE SHE WILL FEEL SORRY FOR YOU AND SHARE.

BethD 01-05-2011 03:42 AM

David, too funny! Maybe you should have bought her a cabinet for XMas!!!! You know what they say, finders keepers

tmg 01-05-2011 04:02 AM

I would take over the whole house if I could get away with it

purple_butterfly 01-05-2011 04:43 AM

Well how rude :hunf: you should have had your name on it

#1piecemaker 01-05-2011 05:09 AM

You shouldn't have taken the shower!!!
Just kidding. Women see empty space as OPEN Range. Sorry. It's just a woman thing. So, now it is time to sit her down and have that little talk with her. I'm sure she'll give it up for you.

purrfectquilts 01-05-2011 05:50 AM

So funny!
