Where I got the original idea the person who posted it said to sew elastic on each one to fit your hand comfortably. Works great!

I've not tried these yet, but somewhere on QB someone mentioned having some sort of elastic strap that they attached to the sponges to slip their hands through so that they didn't have to keep picking up the sponges. I have a cheap pair of quilting gloves from Fons and Porter that I use when I've got big quilt pieces to push through the machine.
