I just finished a quilt it was a nightmare, cut the borders to small and pinned it and it kept coming undone and I got poked by the needles constantly. So make sure borders are big enough and use a good basting spray not the June Taylor
brand either. I am finally done and don't feel like sewing for awhile at least not that pattern. |
If you're a beginner, try making something small at first, like a pillow or a small wallhanging. Then it won't be so intimidating.

If you are having problems with a block, put it down and walk away or work on something else. Then after a day, a few days,or so, go back to the block. Usually I wonder why I was having so much trouble. It works for me.
I also agree now to work on something when you are tired, it will never be good. |
very good quote...learned the hard way too and slowly but surely are getting the better & proper tools now!

Good advice, so let me say...."Hello everybody, lets git on and have fun trying out new pattterns or learning something new from each other, like I'm now"

...was that like WITH THE SEWING MACHINE!!!!!!!! OMG! I just can't even imagine. Hope you've healed since then and there was no further damage to your finger-nerves.

walk in sewing room in bare feet after forgetting you lost a needle in the carpet! The needle broke as my big toe stepped on it so there was only 1/2 in the side of my foot with the tread hanging! Went to emerg and waited 1 hr then they froz it and dug around finaly calling a surgeon. Said I might have to go to the or but they finaly got it. Gale |
To quiltluvr: Oh thank God! I was beginning to think that I had way too much fabric. ( bought 4 fat quarters yesterday--again.)
