I agree with your hubby-don't use the green. Choose a color that's inside one of the blocks for the sashing and borders.
|
Sorry, but I have to agree with hubby.
|
Totally agree with DH that lime just seems to swallow your blocks. I would lay the blocks on a blank surface and just lay strips of other colors next to some blocks or lay the block on the various colors if you are using a large piece of cloth and see which looks best, that is how I normally audition colors I work with.

All I see is green when I look at the picture. I think something less popping for the sashing would make your blocks the focal point of the quilt.
|
I agree, if that is a blue, go with it in a warm color

You used my all time favorite color-GREEN! But I have to concur that even this one is too much for me. LOL.
What would my group think? Go for the kinda soft teal in the blocks or even a medium brown-beige? Good luck. The blocks are beautiful Pegeth |
Agree with your hubby. I know how completely computer monitors can distort color but you need something that will highlight not bury your beautiful sampler blocks. I would audition several different colors from the blocks to see which ones emphasized the blocks without hiding them. Maybe even a white or an ecru. Since you have an in house expert I would certainly ask his opinion.

Agree with your DH, the blocks are gorgeous; but the green overpowers them.
|
I think the bright green may be a tad too bright and doesn't allow the blocks to shine. I think I would pick out a color in the print that you used and use that for sashing, or maybe use no sashing at all.

I think the lime, while pretty, is very strong and drowns out the other colors, particularly the center of the blocks. I'd choose something else.
