How about a Creamy White or Muslin white or off white..? the bright neon Green is too much.. thats all I see... Oh yes there are your pretty pieced Blocks....or use one of the lightest colors in the print,,

I agree, hubby is correct. Try different strips of various colors and see what works. If you have a digital camera, take a picture and then ask you hubby again. Men do have a sense of color with what works and what doesn't. My best friend (male) enjoys taking me to fabric stores and helps me with picking out fabrics !! YIPPEE!!!

Sometimes when you see a picture of the quilt as you go along, It gives you a better showing of how everything is working together.I think if you could find a plain blue the color that is in your print, it would work. (or is it green, can't tell on the computer.) Although as I look at the whole quilt, a lot of the blocks have more of the blue print no the outside edges, so that would not give you the contrast you need.

I agree that the Lime overwhelms the blocks. It really washes them out. What about a blue/teal (?) to match what's in the blocks?

Don't you hate it when the guys are right! The lime green is what draws my eyes in. Your lovely piecing gets lost. My suggestion would be to try some teal, turquoise or maybe even royal blue against the blocks. Could also see a nice neutral with perhaps a tiny single color print in it that would pick up one of the colors of the blocks, tying it in but not detracting. Maybe even a pin dot? It's so hard to tell from a computer pic sometimes.

I agree with feline fanatic! The green belongs in another project. I would certainly audition a dark brown to see what happens. froggyintexas

I'd save the green for a quilt with bright blue piecing. It's to overpowering for this quilt.

Nice job with the sampler blocks. Let them shine and be the focus, not the lime green sashing.

Hubby is right.
