I would match a blue and white in the borders, only narrow pieces.

I don't think it works! JMHO

I don't think it's the blue so much as the gray that dulls it or something to me. The colors in the middle part of the Star just don't complement each other or go Wow or anything. Audition other colors there & see if that makes a difference. It's going to be a Awesome quilt when you get colors right!!

I think it works especially if you incorporate the fabric or color in the sashing or border.

The blue will probably be fine, but add some as a border to tie it with the center. If you don't want to do that, you could do a flange or simply bind it in the blue. I think more is better in this case.

I think the blue overpowers and draws the eye too much. I would go with a softer blue.

I agree here, this blue just does not work. I think a different shade of blue and a smaller print would work better. I love this pattern and your other colors!

Since you asked (normally I wouldn't say anything)... when I first opened it I thought "ugh, colors wrong" (I always look at the pic before I read the text).
I think a solid blue would look better than a blue print. BTW ... you have a block flipped. Top right ... beige/rust HST in the frame :) |
