I'm with the light. I think the dark has too much of a pattern, and doesn't seem to be the right hue/

I like the look of the light purple, myself. The dark seems too "heavy", somehow....

I think dark boarders make a quilt "pop". Light is kind of "blah"....IMHO, anyway.

I only read the first page of responses. I definitely like the darker colored fabric, but I think the pattern of the darker border takes away from the gorgeous Bargello quilt you made. Maybe a different dark purple with a smaller pattern. Just my opinion.

If it was mine I would go with the dark purple already in the quilt. Your sample is too distracting for the rest of the quilt IMO
