Other quilt forums you belong to?

I was wondering if you participate in other quilting forums, and if you like them. I know years ago HGTV had one, but I just did a search and can't find it, so I guess they did away with it.

Jeanne S 03-05-2015 05:23 PM

This is the only one for me!

sewbizgirl 03-05-2015 05:26 PM

Missouri Star Quilts has a forum... just found out about it today.

thimblebug6000 03-05-2015 05:49 PM

Justabitcrazy what area are you in?

KwiltyKahy 03-05-2015 07:00 PM

This is the only one I am on, I spend too much time here, can't afford another one!!

Tartan 03-05-2015 07:54 PM

Missouri Star Quilt co. and The Quilt Show have forums now but Quiltingboard is the only one I have joined.

lynnie 03-05-2015 07:58 PM

just this one. this one feels like home to me. a lot of nice, helpful, fun people here

Divokittysmom 03-05-2015 09:06 PM

I agree, everyone here seems like a family to me too. I tried another board but felt lost, didn't know anyone's signature, name or avatar... felt lost. I have learned sew much and been helped whenever I have asked questions. It's hard to beat the QB!!! This has been home to me for 4 years, I'm staying put!

Ariannaquilts 03-05-2015 09:16 PM

I used to belong to a couple of others many years ago but once I found this forum there is no need for any other. It definitely is like a family that is spread out to different lands.

DOTTYMO 03-05-2015 10:47 PM

Same here, just this one. It is easy to navigate and full of very helpful advise.

DresiArnaz 03-05-2015 11:34 PM

I'm just getting back into quilting. This was the best forum I found. It moves fast and it's jam packed with resources great information and people who have a passion for quilting.

Why go anywhere else?

Queen 03-06-2015 02:29 AM

This is the only one I visit at least daily or even more. I just might miss something if I don't check in.

Mary

pumpkinpatchquilter 03-06-2015 04:47 AM

I belong to several - this one, the Quilt Show forums, Connected Threadz, and the APQS forums. Those are the ones I frequent most anyhow. Every forum has something different to offer - new people mean new angles to see things, new things to learn. :) This one was the first I joined many years ago though!

Geri B 03-06-2015 05:21 AM

Only one- here. I have "tried" others.....Besides the great people here, I think what I like too about this board is the setup.....so easy to navigate thru, see things, go places....others, like in y-----, are difficult for me to follow.....here it's like sitting in ones kitchen over a cuppa!

franc36 03-06-2015 05:41 AM

I joined the MSQC forum when it started; but I don't look at it. I spend all my time here. This is an awesome site and as Geri B says, it is so easy to navigate. Here, I have a huge community of quilting friends. I love it!

Jingle 03-06-2015 05:46 AM

I joined another but, it is pretty boring. I haven't gone there for several weeks.
This is the best one and first one I joined. I spend a lot of time here.

Same for me.

tucsonquilter 03-06-2015 07:01 AM

This one is the BEST!!!

tessagin 03-06-2015 07:14 AM

I have checked out and joined couple others but easier to navigate here and response is pretty instantaneous. So many others a response might be the next week or not even. Have had a couple issues and got over those. I am not always in the mood to sew. Some of the other forums require you to produce something at least a larger than crib size quilt everyother month. I am too old to be told I have to do this or that bad enough I get told for having done something I shouldn't have when I didn't know it was wrong to do in the first place. I am on another on FB and it's fun. Pretty much the same as this. They have projects to do but if you don't get them done no biggy. As everyone knows I Google a lot. Aside from learning it's fun to come up with tips and tricks to pass on to others. everyone on this board likes to see other's progressions with their art. That doesn't happen very often.

Doggramma 03-06-2015 11:33 AM

Mostly this one. I joined up at Missouri Star but I rarely go over there. And I really like browsing the forum at APQS - they're mostly longarmers, but I love to what they've quilted and their tips.

ghostrider 03-06-2015 01:04 PM

I belong to several, both commercial like those that have been mentioned and non-commercial like this one, some are specialty groups, some are more general. However, as with any 'date', it's considered rude to talk about others when you're with the one you're with. :)

Yep, what lynnie said!

mtkoldra 03-06-2015 03:26 PM

this one only!

Onebyone 03-06-2015 03:34 PM

I belong to many. Garden Web, MSQC, Quilt in a Day, The Quilt Show Forum, Connecting Threads forum, and several Facebook quilt groups. I don't visit all of them everyday but do keep up. I know who posts on here and others because I see the same post on the same day. I have an Eiditic memory so it's easy for me to keep up with many sites at once.[h=3][/h]

Too True!!!!

soccertxi 03-06-2015 03:39 PM

I chat on a Quilt chat on AOL (like for 20 yrs!!) and I also follow MQResource. Many posters there are long armers, but its open to all machine quilters-LA, DMS quilters... Its fun to see all the ideas you get when you get stuck!

hairquilt 03-06-2015 03:50 PM

Me too!! None of the others are as friendly etc as this one! Love this Board like family
!

HouseDragon 03-06-2015 03:54 PM

I've lost track of how many I've joined in the last ten or so years: I'd guess at least seven ..... maybe ten.

This Board is HUGE compared to any other board I've ever been on. I'm on here every day.

APQS I almost stopped visiting after they totally changed how the board was designed and I found it difficult to keep track of what I was interested in reading. Still occasionally check in, though. They have some lovely FMQ-ing eye candy.

MQResource I joined not long ago: I like it. It's a wonderful resource ~grin~ for FMQ ideas and eye candy.

But The Quilting Board is my "home" ~ as some have mentioned, the response time is almost instantaneous. And there's almost always several (or many) different takes on answering questions. There's a huge variety in the quilts shown and I've learned some very, very useful tips & tricks.

With that said: MAHALO to all the members of this Board for making it such a wonderful place to come.

PenniF 03-06-2015 04:49 PM

Nope....only this one....i would get NOTHING done if i had more to look at !! :D

annette1952 03-07-2015 06:13 AM

There are just so many hours in a day! lol Just this one for me

mengler 03-07-2015 06:18 AM

I belong to several most of which pertain to my sewing equipment. Much like this one it's another resource for machine help and projects and tips sharing. You can do digest only to keep the email volume down.

I just belong to this one. Love you guys! I have heard about Yahoo groups and thought about looking them up but then I'd really never get enough quilting done LoL. This occupies me plenty :)

ghostrider 03-07-2015 06:58 AM

Just a reminder...the Prohibited Content section of the QB Rules located at the top of the Main page contains the following:

- Do not post links promoting any "signup" pages, newsletters, lists, message boards, sweepstakes, giveaways, contests, voting pages, etc. That includes any sites that are meant to collect "signups" or personal data for any purpose.

Don't want anyone getting into trouble over this innocent discussion. :o

margee 03-07-2015 07:04 AM

I've checked others but always stay with QB. I feel like I know the people posting here. I don't post pictures because I don't know how or if I have the equipment to do so but I do love reading this board. I do wish there were more pics for mission organization. I luv to see quilting areas.
margee:thumbup:--just tried to make a smiley-don't think I did it.

MissM 03-07-2015 07:07 AM

I belong to a some Facebook groups specific to my interests. One for Bernina sewing machines, one for primitive quilts, one for FMQ, and one for scrappy quilts.

Bobbielinks 03-07-2015 07:27 AM

A couple of ones for longarmers, but this one is my favorite go to site for information and companionship.

wendiq 03-07-2015 07:29 AM

ALL I need is here.....other's are available, but not nearly as good as this site.......people here are friendly and the info is fabulous! It's easy to navigate too......

quiltingeileen 03-07-2015 07:32 AM

I only belong to this one. This site has great, knowledgable members, blocks swaps, tutorials and just all around great quilting folks. I feel blessed to have found this board!

dahlshouse 03-07-2015 08:25 AM

This is the only one I like... friendly and easy to maneuver thru... always find interesting topics and love everyones helpful participation
