i see lots of paisley fabric...
how do you feel about paisley?
love it/hate it or WHAT does it remind you of?

Jennifer22206 06-25-2011 01:47 PM

Oh I love it! I like the intricacies. Sometimes it looks almost mathematical. It just draws me in

just_the_scraps_m'am 06-25-2011 01:49 PM

there's such a variety out there lately, i was curious as to how people "view it"

sueisallaboutquilts 06-25-2011 01:50 PM

I loooove paisleys!! But I don't see them often enough!
Where are you seeing them???

TonnieLoree 06-25-2011 01:55 PM

Paisleys are interesting. Sometimes they are hard to incorporate into my world. If I had to start with a paisley and build around it, I probably could. I would not run out to a store and specifically shop for it though.

coloradosky 06-25-2011 01:55 PM

Love them. There is such an enormous design variation.

Kat Sews 06-25-2011 02:02 PM

They remind me of the 1960's

Crafty Darlene 06-25-2011 02:03 PM

Love it. Just finished a full size quilt using a Moda layer cake called Prairie Paisley and it turned out great. It looks like civil war fabrics.

i haven't gone out of my way for them, either, except for some reason, they have followed me home on more than one occasion!

JoanneS 06-25-2011 02:06 PM

I have always loved them, and I'm so glad to see them popular again. If my stash were not so overgrown, I'd be buying every one in sight!

athenagwis 06-25-2011 02:21 PM

I go back an forth, sometimes i really like it and sometimes I think it looks too old fashioned. LOL So I guess I don't have a good answer either way!!

Cheers!

Love them and it reminds me of India, where the design comes from.

timepasser 06-25-2011 02:34 PM

60's child I love it

asmmauer 06-25-2011 02:38 PM

I to love pasileys they can add so much interest to your quilt,

StitchinJoy 06-25-2011 02:42 PM

Yes, I adore paisley. My first business was painting freehand paisleys on ceramic cups and mugs. I was 16.

Now I'm a longarm quilter amd I often quilt freehand paisleys on client quilts. Funny huh?

maryb119 06-25-2011 02:43 PM

I like paisley, I always have.

BMP 06-25-2011 02:43 PM

Love them. I just finished a throw for one of my sons and used them...no floral for them !

rusty quilter 06-25-2011 02:50 PM

It reminds me of the 60's. Liked it then...not so thrilled with it now!

nyelphaba 06-25-2011 03:11 PM

I love paisley fabrics. My favorite fabrics are all over packed prints and paisley
fills the bill.

Lori S 06-25-2011 03:19 PM

I love paisley fabrics they just seem to go great with everything. When ever I need a bit more ....of something and can't quite put my finger on it.... its paisley to the rescue! I can never find enough!!

cathylynn 06-25-2011 03:49 PM

being a child of the 60's, paisleys were a big part of my wardrobe. still love paisleys.

katier825 06-25-2011 03:50 PM

I LOVE paisley fabrics! There are old fashioned ones and modern ones. I rarely see one I don't like!

never thought of them as masculine, most ones i've seen have some kind of floral with them OR, oddly enough, inside the paisley!

Please, please, post a photo. I love paisleys and want to see how you used them. Back in the 50's when we all wore printed cotton skirts, I had a green paisley skirt. I would love to have that fabric now.

QuiltnLady1 06-25-2011 04:03 PM

I love paisley -- it seems to multiply whenever I go to my LQS :)

MadQuilter 06-25-2011 04:09 PM

Love the paisley - but I prefer the more subdued ones - not the bright and in your face ones.

ontheriver 06-25-2011 04:25 PM

Love, love it. Reminds me of being a teenager and still able to wear miniskirts.

I love it too!

Sadiemae 06-25-2011 04:49 PM

I know a couple of people who hate them, but I just love them!!!

emerald46 06-25-2011 05:19 PM

I have always loved paisley - the designs, colors just call me and I have quite a collection. Seldom use it in quilts. I call them my pretties.

Debbr63 06-25-2011 05:25 PM

Love, love paisley! Have a book on the history of paisley ... and one of my friends bought me beautiful paisley wrapping paper.... haven't wrapped anything in it as I love to look at it and study the patterning!

wesing 06-25-2011 06:36 PM

My wife and I both love paisleys. They remind me of the 50's or the 60's. We have used them as focus fabric for one quilt, border and backing fabric for two quilts, and also used them in smaller quantities in at least two others.

kimg 06-25-2011 06:40 PM

I find myself drawn to them. I am not sure why but I almost always find the paisleys and buy some.

GrannieAnnie 06-25-2011 06:58 PM

Don't think I've ever seen a paisley that I didn't love.

NennieRules 06-25-2011 06:59 PM

Love it love it love it....did I mention how well I liked it?
