I also like to paper piece. most blocks can be translated into a paper pieced version, and I find it is so much easier to keep the blocks the same size and make the points meet where they are supposed to...

Spray your paper with a light mist of water, it helps peel the paper off

Hi I'm very new to quilting, though I have been sewing for several years. I've been 'cruisin' this site for a few weeks now and taken the advice I've seen given over and over. I'm starting small, working my way up. I'm piecing pot holders now, then will move to placemats, next to a table topper...you see my strategy. I did a lot of research and decided I would begin with paper piecing. This video helped me. Hopefully it will help you too.

I really really like pp, but I hate picking out the pieces of paper :( Has anyone tried using fabric foundation that can be left on the back? I saw this kind of medium exists and comes from EQ7.

The directions are confusing and a class will help you "see" it. Then you should be go to go. BTW, I have been buying drawing tablet paper from The Dollar Store to use for my PP. Tears easy and is lightweight.

I learned to pp on my own by watching the Carol Doak videos on Utube. She makes it look as easy as it is.

I also love to PP. One of my favorite designers is Cindy Edgerton. Check out her site www.averyspecialcollection.com/foryou.htm
I have made several beautiful wall hangings that looked impossible to do. Cindy gives great precutting info.

I haven't done it for awhile but really like it. The 1/4 inch ruler is handy.
