Hi, my name is Sulema, I live in Northern California and I really enjoy reading the Quilting Board (it has so much info). I have a question and I just know someone will have the answer. I need a quilting pattern called "Fractions" and although I did find something on an earlier message board the link didn't work. Help.

Thanks for your speedy reply. Do you know if there is a freebie anywhere?

Sadiemae 10-31-2011 05:30 PM

I couldn't find a freebie, but it looks like you could figure it out...

looks like there's something wrong with that site's security certificate if you tried going there and your computer wouldn't let you go. here's another link, try this: http://www.thebestkeptsecret.com/cgi...02&pid=1#pt702

Hi Sulema, welcome. I too live in N. Calif. I believe I have this pattern and would be willing to trade for a different pattern. If interested, send me a PM.

paulswalia 10-31-2011 06:46 PM

This is a really simple pattern. Make a 4 patch that becomes 8.5 by 5.5 and put a 2 inch sashing on each of the long sides. you end up with an 8 inch(finished) 8.5 inch raw block. turn one horizontal and the next vertical and keep going until the quilt is the size you want. I did an adaptation of this pattern (didn't make 4 patch) in my dinosaur quilt. See it at : http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-164407-1.htm#4597017

Hello from Ohio!

bonnyh 11-01-2011 06:25 AM

Hi and welcome. Is it Fractions or Fractures? There's a book out there called Fabulous Fractures - Eay One-of-a-Kind Fractured Quilts by Brenda Esslinger, Ashton Publications.

bonnyh 11-01-2011 06:27 AM

Sorry - that's 'Easy One-of-a-Kind Fractured Quilts' It's early and I haven't had my coffee yet.

Evie 11-01-2011 02:55 PM

There is a free pattern at Northcott under the name "Colorworks" with four different colorways. If this link doesn't work, http://northcott.net/?sid=3&layout=2...=864&colid=426 look for the pattern under the "free" tab.

So, I'm (already) having a promblem. I can't get to page 2, or 3, or 4! Don't even know if this will post. :(

RuthEm 11-02-2011 06:56 AM

Welcome from Idaho.....I looked at the site Murphy suggested and "Fractions" is a very pretty pattern; think I've seen photo of it on this Q Board sometime. Maybe I'll try making one sometime......glad you shared with us!
