I'm in the process of creating a few quilt patterns/instructions, and I'm wondering which you'd prefer: PDF instant download to print out as needed or paper pattern that gets shipped to you at additional cost?

Sadiemae 07-22-2010 09:47 AM

PDF. Always trying to save money.

Chatfield 07-22-2010 09:47 AM

Absolutely PDF!

amma 07-22-2010 09:48 AM

I like the instant gratification of a download unless it means that I have to tape together templates, due to page constrictions. Then I would prefer to have it mailed. :D:D:D

bejay28 07-22-2010 09:50 AM

I agree.... PDF!

virtualbernie 07-22-2010 10:11 AM

PDF for me--even if it means that I have to tape the pattern together. The pattern is always at easy access (I tend to lose patterns among the gadrillion I own.) And of course there's the instant gratification!

Lucky Patsy's 07-22-2010 10:34 AM

PDF all the way! I always know where to find it later, which I can't always say about patterns I buy!

belmer 07-22-2010 10:47 AM

PDF all the way....

I agree, PDF...when I want the pattern, I want it NOW...don't want to wait for snail mail.

drivingsusan 07-22-2010 11:18 AM

PDF for sure...for all reasons stated above!!!

RevPam 07-22-2010 01:37 PM

Go PDF!!

cjr 07-22-2010 01:45 PM

PDF definitely.

quiltinggirl 07-22-2010 01:46 PM

Most definitely in PDF form. :)

katier825 07-22-2010 01:51 PM

PDF - I love downloadable patterns!

mlaceruby 07-22-2010 02:17 PM

I always like a PDF
but give the buyer an option
of a paper one also

Fiber Artist 07-22-2010 02:24 PM

PDF please

oatw13 07-22-2010 02:31 PM

I would prefer the PDF.

That being said, if I am still paying $10 for the pattern (or a standard pattern price) I want the pattern sent to me. If you aren't paying for the paper and production of the pattern, I shouldn't have to either.

Mar_ie 07-22-2010 02:40 PM

Free patterns from the internet every time unless it's something special and isn't too difficult as I'm a beginner.

ghostrider 07-22-2010 03:19 PM

If I have to pay something for it, paper. If it's free, a download is fine.

Lori S 07-22-2010 04:02 PM

PDF it means I would get it faster. But as someone else mentioned if there are items that would consume more than a single page of 8.5 by 11 I want it mailed.
I got a paper priced pattern in PDF the matchlines ...made it a real pain. And there were 20 different components that had to be matched up to another sheet of paper!

GrammaNan 07-22-2010 04:08 PM

No question, PDF.

stillwaters 07-23-2010 10:22 AM

Yep - PDF, 'cause they're "Pretty Darn Fast"!

.
Same here-sometimes I prefer to have it printed in black & white so the designer's color scheme doesn't influence mine-I tend to be swayed by others color choices and I am trying to stretch myself by choosing my own

jolo 07-24-2010 04:57 AM

Paper as I live in a rural area where many or on dial up internet which is very slow and almost impossibile to download successfully.

tmg 07-24-2010 05:18 AM

CoriAmD 07-24-2010 05:47 AM

chamby 07-24-2010 06:04 AM

I vote for PDF as well.

matraina 07-24-2010 06:07 AM

PDF

Rachel 07-24-2010 06:12 AM

I also prefer PDF, but if the pages are larger than 8.5 x 11, I'd like the option of paper.

MaggieLou 07-24-2010 06:36 AM

PDF - then I can save it to my computer.

grannypat7925 07-24-2010 07:05 AM

merryhare 07-24-2010 07:13 AM
