I'm in the process of creating a few quilt patterns/instructions, and I'm wondering which you'd prefer: PDF instant download to print out as needed or paper pattern that gets shipped to you at additional cost?
PDF. Always trying to save money.
Absolutely PDF!
I like the instant gratification of a download unless it means that I have to tape together templates, due to page constrictions. Then I would prefer to have it mailed. :D:D:D
I agree.... PDF!
PDF for me--even if it means that I have to tape the pattern together. The pattern is always at easy access (I tend to lose patterns among the gadrillion I own.) And of course there's the instant gratification!
PDF all the way! I always know where to find it later, which I can't always say about patterns I buy!
PDF all the way....

I agree, PDF...when I want the pattern, I want it NOW...don't want to wait for snail mail.
PDF for sure...for all reasons stated above!!!
Go PDF!!
PDF definitely.
Most definitely in PDF form. :)
PDF - I love downloadable patterns!
I always like a PDF
but give the buyer an option of a paper one also |
PDF please
I would prefer the PDF.
That being said, if I am still paying $10 for the pattern (or a standard pattern price) I want the pattern sent to me. If you aren't paying for the paper and production of the pattern, I shouldn't have to either. |
Free patterns from the internet every time unless it's something special and isn't too difficult as I'm a beginner.
If I have to pay something for it, paper. If it's free, a download is fine.
PDF it means I would get it faster. But as someone else mentioned if there are items that would consume more than a single page of 8.5 by 11 I want it mailed.
I got a paper priced pattern in PDF the matchlines ...made it a real pain. And there were 20 different components that had to be matched up to another sheet of paper! |
No question, PDF.
Yep - PDF, 'cause they're "Pretty Darn Fast"!

Same here-sometimes I prefer to have it printed in black & white so the designer's color scheme doesn't influence mine-I tend to be swayed by others color choices and I am trying to stretch myself by choosing my own |
Paper as I live in a rural area where many or on dial up internet which is very slow and almost impossibile to download successfully.
PDF
PDF for the same reasons as everyone else.
PDF please... I have no patience... LOL
I vote for PDF as well.
PDF
I also prefer PDF, but if the pages are larger than 8.5 x 11, I'd like the option of paper.
PDF - then I can save it to my computer.
PDF for me too!!
No question, PDF.
PDF gets my vote - instant gratification! :)
I love PDF
