They are thinking like the execs at Wal Mart. Probably relatives. |
Very sweet cr12cats. He's obviously well loved!

Sorry to say I do not know. However, in the Pennsylvania area, the same thing has happened. It is enough to make a quilter get really really mad.
Unless, they have a privatized viewing station for those who pay for PBS. That may be it. Just a guess. |
'Create' a PBS channel often has craft/sewing shows -- you do have to support what you want however.
|
RFDtv has Eleanor Burns on Wed. and I think a Fons and Porter to but not sure when

I watch Quilt in a day and Fons and Porter on my search menu with my satelite. I'm not interested in anything else at this point.
|
The same thing here just outside of Boston. Also I have to use closed captioning because I'm almost deaf. PBS stopped it on some of my favorite shows. ( Lark Rise to Candleford, etc) :Create" is on here but seldom does a quilting show.
|
We are lucky here in MO from the sound of it. We have Sunday Sewing with Nancy, Fons and Porter, Quilt in a Day, and Sue Hausman. I always look forward to Sunday afternoon.
|
You may be lucky in MO but not in the St. Louis Area. I use to watch a quiltinh show at 7:00am but several years ago they took it off. I do not give any money to them because of it. There are british shows, gardening, painting, cooking and house repairs but the quilting show is gone.
|
They have changed so many quilt shows, until there are none.
|
On Charter Cable there is only one show - Sewing with Nancy. AT&T subscription has almost ALL Quilting Shows here in Georgia. My girlfriend just got this television service.
I checked with Charter listings, "Create" web site doesn't even list anything in Georgia. I do have access to just about everyone of computer quilting shows. |
I subscribed to PBS in Spokane specifically because of Quilting programs which were on daily at 2:30 Alas last Monday someone waved a magic wand or put bleach on the programs or something and they have all disappeared, Not impressed1! Jane

none on south GA PBS either.
|
maybe we should suggest to the station that they put a quilting show on instead of the same old shows. My dh works for Neilsen Media Research I'm going to tell him when he goes back to suggest to the stations to put some woman's shows on. between the baseball, football, golf, tennis, reality i've had it it's tiresome. Sue

I checked out our DISH guide for tomorrow. We still have all 4 shows.

It seems that the dish and cable systems is where the problem is as the people who pick there stuff out of the airwaves seem to get more from PBS thanthe dish and cable customers. Maybe we need to be contacting the dish and cable systems. I have Uverse by ATT and get two shows on Saturday morning on OETA a PBS station. A friend has an HD TV and a converter box as she lives in a rural area. She gets 4 or 5 stations from PBS because she has HD TV..
|
I think it is both. I live in the Houston broadcasting area. I also have sattilite. Saturday mornings are the only time they offer quilting, sewing, knitting and the like that I know about. (There may be something for Sunday morning, but I am in church so I haven't checked) We don't get the Vieme channel, much less the create one. I did find RFD which I think is for rural. I have found BYU which has some craft shows.
I think many of the people making quilting shows, and craft shows have found that they can go on to the internet and charge us to watch. (I think this started because there was no longer much of a televison market they could plug into. DIY and HGTV both no longer show Jewelry shows, quilting shows, or craft shows. They had some great programs, but went with interior decorating. Maybe it is cheaper, or they could have just had a better demographic)If we want it bad enough we shell out! |
we are still getting them in western new york state.

Wow this is great. Thanks. Now I don't have to have my quilting show withdrawal on Saturdays.

this link will take you to a site where you can type in your show and it will tell you the time and day to find it. so enter the show name (i.e. fons & porter) in the search window that they provide and watch the day and time come up. you may have to register. it's free. you tell them your zip code i think, and the info you get is for your area. try it. |
thank you for the locate tv but none here in wichita on the air waves in my area. i refuse to have cable. i tried it when we came here but the service was ---well lets say there wasn't any and very rude. lighting hit the dish outside and even though we had it off we still ended up paying 175 for a 150 box. also if i am paying the price we did to just channel surf i could at least get a little service with a smile.every one wants the money but give no service, like those who want a nice paycheck but don't want to work. so i just need my phone and puter and i'm a happy camper.
|
have you tried looking for quilting shows on hulu? i never have but maybe .....
|
The Detroit Metro area has zilch on quilting. Our PBS station does not have the quality shows they used to and none of the other stations have anything either.
