Piecing Thread?

Hi-

I was just wondering what kind of thread I should order for the new year? I have used Aurifil, but the stores around here no longer carry it. I see connecting threads has thread on sale, but I don't want tons of lint and build up. Looking for a nice overall thread I can purchase in a bunch of neutral colors.

Happy Holidays, JC

I like aurifil and superior - happy shopping!

If you are going to order online I'd stick with the Aurifil. The cheapest I have found it is at J. Hittle.

i am always pleased with connecting threads.

the best price i have found so far for aurifil is at jhittlesewing.com
they sell individual spools and by the box.
i see they have also started carrying the cones.

My favorite is Aurifil Although she is winding down on her online business, you can still get bundles of Aurifil for $7/spool or $7.50 for single spools from Sue's. Shipping is very reasonable and quick. Great customer service too. I will be sorry to see her go.

I buy Aurifil thread here: http://www.tristan.bc.ca/cart/produc...6&bestseller=Y Check out the Genziana cotton thread there, it's the same if not better then Aurifil. There are some great buys on the website every few months.
I like Connecting Threads Pro for piecing and machine quilting. It's 70wt and comes on a large cone. It is great bobbin thread too to use with other threads.

I know it's not Aurifil, but I have been pleasantly surprised with Gutermann. I had always used Mettler silk finish which can be a bit linty. The lady in the sewing machine department at Joanns recommended I give it a try. She had run out of mettler and had used some Gutermann for a blouse. She told me that she was "pleasantly surprised" and I agree...especially when it is discounted @ 50% off. :-) laura

I love Aurifil - my LQS carries it but I would order online if necessary.

i have a bunch of mettler's silk finish, and while i like it, it IS linty. I have aurifil...i like it. it's nice <g>. and i've been very pleased with connecting threads thread! i find it is not as linty as mettlers.
