I am using charms and wanted to try one out tonight to see if I need to order more packs. I will post my finished size in the morning.

Feb 10th....I'm in! Just happens that a 'pinwheel scrap' quilt is next in line on my to do list. Perfect timing!

I think you might be right! My 8" block did come out to 10" unfinished.
Thank you so much!
We'll see if other finished practice sizes come out using this formula and using this method.
I would love to correct the chart for everyone with your formula.

So the 5" blocks -.5 x1.4 -.5 = 5.8
10" block - .5 x 1.4 - .5 = 12.8
That's interesting.
It won't matter as long as ALL the blocks are the same size.
If you planned to mix these blocks with other blocks then you would have a problem.
A few people are going to make and measure and post tomorrow so we can check it out.
:-D

I am in. Not sure I can do a block a day, but it looks so easy. I am shopping my stash as soon as I finish here.
