I made my first pinwheel. I used charms and my finished block measured 5 3/4. So if I am doing things correct I will have a 5 1/4 size block when all the blocks are sewn together in a strip. So I need to use that final measurement to figure out how many I need to make a twin size quilt. Am I correct?

She likes purple with pink, does that make sense. All opinions welcome. Thanks. |
This is my first time joining in so I hope I'm doing this right. I've spent the day trying to decide what pattern to use for a baby quilt for a greatgrand baby coming in June and I think you all have helped me decide. count me in on the pinwheels

I'll have a go. May have to catch up at weekends because I work part time. I might have a spare bit of fabric to use

I will give it a go. Have lots of scraps. Maya even try the 3D pinwheel blocks. A mix of 3D and flat could be interesting.

I am going to try it, too. I have one baby quilt (Irish chain) to finish and then need to do another that I was planning. I won't make as many as others because I need the blocks to go around a central piece I'm going to use like a panel. I just got the fabric ironed today, so it's an omen that this project is coming up now! I'm planning to make scrapy pinwheels. The fabrics are pink and brown and the center panel has lots of big butterflies on it. The "baby" is now almost 2, so I'll make the finished quilt toddler sized. I'm also doing the Stars BOM, as well as working on the EQ6 class I'm taking from Quilt University. I'd better slow down. I do still need to eat, sleep, and do that darned housework!
