That's another great pinwheel quilt! I love the wavy stripes.

I hope it is something simple and can return home with me, without going into the "hospital".

How disappointing. I do hope it's a simple fix! You really just got into it so may have to start over if it's gone a long time.

Susiequilt, this was a great idea! Thanks! I may not be stopping at 78.... going to get the design wall out when we get there and then come up with a plan!

Today is day 75!
All you procrastinators get busy!
:D

I am working trying to catch up. I've had a lot going on. I won't make the 78 but at least I will have a few. Mine are small so I'm trying to decide how to add enough other blocks or lattice to make at least a throw. I have enjoyed watching to see everyone's pics.

Finally I found time to put the rest of my blocks together.
If you look close you can see why I had to put it together like I did. I made the middle blocks and then delayed getting back to them and when I did I cut the corner blocks for the corner triangles smaller than the original therefore that is the reason for the little black strips on the outside blocks oh well I am satisfied with them. I don't know when I will get it quilted. Plan to use it for a tablecloth I think!

I've done it before but refresh my memory. How do I measure the triangles for the pinwheel block to make it a larger square. Does that make sense?

BettyB...LOVE your quilt...such a different layout. I actually think the black sets it off...very nicely done!

What a lucky mistake. That's lovely!

In the sew around the square method, you can just start with larger blocks.
The formula is size of fabric square - .5 x 1.4 - .5 = size of pinwheel. Trim blocks.
12' block minus .5 = 11.5 X 1.4 = 16.1 minus .5 = 15.6 trim to 15.5" or
Start with 10" blocks minus .5 X 1.4 minus .5 = 12.8. Trim to 12.5

In the put two squares together then sew an X and cut apart, square up and sew blocks together.
It is the size of square you want plus 7/8" or 1" is better I think. Trim each segment.
Put 4 of these together to make a pinwheel.
If you wanted a 12" pinwheel, cut your squares to 13".
Sew together on each side of the X. cut apart and square up each to 6.5". Sew together to make a 12.5 block

I hope one of these answers your question. I'm just guessing what you are asking. If I'm wrong just ask again!

:-D
