and your point is???? just kidding - me too

If you do a consistent 1/4" seam, the points should come out okay.

You guys are doing just great!
Remember to average 1 block a day and at the end you will have 78 blocks!
Don't get discouraged and quit, you will get better in time.
We should all be experts when we are done this project.

Personally, I like to have a purpose for a quilt and mine hopefully will go to my very best friend who lived in the same village with me for 22 years...she left last year when her husband became a minister and they moved to Cornwall...she loves blue....so just another 75 to go but it would make a wonderful Christmas gift !

That is very nice! Love your color choice. I agree with wanting to have a purpose for a quilt. Mine is for my DDs MIL who also happens to be my best friend.

It's a start. Here is my effort for the first day. I need 180 since these will be 4" finished and that should give me a 48 x 60 size quilt before border.
I will just keep at it and encourage everyone else to do the same. There is a lot of pressing. I found if I opened up the seams as I took them off the machine and finger pressed them open, it was easier to iron.
This will definitely be my spring project. Plus I am trying to sew a backing for another quilt so use these as leaders/enders when I am building it.

2-10 first day effort

Okay, I just sewed 8 blocks, just have to cut them apart and assemble tomorrow. May sew some more tonight. Mine are 10" layer cakes so I don't need so many as other people, but I have too many other irons in the fire right now. In case you didn't see this in my other post, this should get you hepped up. This is a quilt hanging at the entrance to Longwood Gardens, made by 30 volunteers.

That is just gorgeous!

I hope you had a great time.

That is quite the quilt. Thanks for sharing. One of those things that many of us would never see otherwise.

Yes, we had a very nice time. It is nice to only live about 40 minutes from there. We even had time to stop at a QS on our way home. I got a quart of Best Press, and no fabric. They did have quite an array of batiks; wanted a yard of each but you know how that goes.
