Wow...everybody's pinwheels look so pretty! I don't think I like mine, but I'm still plugging along.

I am trying to quilt the QFK quilt with pinwheels on the embroidery machine, started Sunday on the Topaz with the design on the memory stick. The 3rd block I did, the design was not centered when finished. Yes, I had it centered before starting. So out came the stitches, then down to the computer and the Diamond. New needle, same thread, shredding before completing one design; changed to embroidery needle from quilting needle; still shredding. Finally got back to it today with different thread, cotton quilting thread; still shredding. Changed to topstitching needle, did one motif without shredding. Next square, shredding. I am going nuts. Any suggestions I would welcome at this point!!!!

Strange! I hope you figure it out. I don't know enough to offer help.

Oh, guess I read this one wrong. I missed out on it. Maybe there will be another one soon.

Since there is no mailing you finish when you can.
Even if we are finished you can continue until you are done.
Many are not making the full 78 and many more are making more.
Figure out your size of block and pattern so you know how many blocks you need. Maybe you could make two a day or maybe only one every other day!
Lots of flexibility here!

I'm not sure I like mine either!
Mine are 9" finished, all different solid colors with a white on white background and it may be too busy for me or maybe the blocks are just too big. I don't know.
I saw a quilt called pinwheel party that has the blocks separated by solid white or white on white blocks and I'm thinking I might do that arrangement. I could live with that maybe with a prairie point sashing or border.
Still thinking!
:-D

Shelley, you have been a busy girl. Your blocks are so pretty, lots of variety. I'm making mine with a constant background color and maybe 15 different prints. I thought that would enough to keep boredom at bay, but I'm losing interest. I will finish it up though.

I think I may have the solution. I went into the store to pick up my new plaxiglass table for the Topaz and took the quilt along. She suggested reducing the tension and using Microtex needles. My test worked okay. I also switched to GOOD cotton quilting thread. We'll see how it works when I start quilting the pinwheels. I have to unsew a lot of what I had done so far.

You're not the only one - my fabric colors are driving me batty...

Only 10 of each so far: orange, yellow, & green.

ErinMarie....those are awesome. I think you should keep going with those colors. You will have a beautiful quilt when you finish.
