thimblebug6000 08-19-2009 04:50 PM

Cutebuns, I'm on the westcoast.... not sure what time you're starting this... and what time zone you're in?

cutebuns 08-19-2009 05:15 PM

I am one time zone from you, I am mountain time, it is 7 10 right now, it will be a bit of an early start for the coast, but I didn't want to start the east to late either. So it was a toss up. I am not a morning person. I will have to set my alarm and get out of bed before I want to. especially if I want my tea etc before starting.

Sorry for those that have other plans, I figured that there would be a few that couldn't do it, but on the up side, I am already in the planning and sewing stage of the next one. Though from the looks of it I might need more time for it. So either it will be a whole weekend thing or covered in a couple of evenings. Of course this all hinges with how well this one works out for everyone.

Ducky 08-19-2009 05:21 PM

Well, it looks like my husband and I are going to be spending a day together on Saturday, so I'll just have to read about what you all have done and do it later myself. Hope it's fun for everyone.

thimblebug6000 08-19-2009 08:33 PM

I'm still not seeing what time you are starting ... in your time zone? Am I missing something?

cutebuns 08-19-2009 08:37 PM

I am starting 9 my time.

thimblebug6000 08-19-2009 09:25 PM

:D Thanks!

Quilt4u 08-20-2009 01:24 AM

I might have to miss out on this. Might have to work. But still want to make the quilt. I'm tbad at time zones. So what time would that be on EST ( East Coast )?

cutebuns 08-20-2009 07:08 AM

I think east coast it will be 12. But don't quote me on that. I am horrible at time zones, but I believe that you are three hours away from us.

NorBanaquilts 08-20-2009 07:20 AM

I thought the difference between eastern and mountain was 2 hours???

NorBanaquilts 08-20-2009 07:21 AM

but then again are you on daylight savings time?

Quilt4u 08-20-2009 07:24 AM

Day light till Nov.

cutebuns 08-20-2009 07:35 AM

I am one hour from the west coast (parents live there)

And pretty sure three hours to the east coast (DD#1 is there right now) But I get turned around pretty easily,

I think I noted that I am 2 hours from the board time, it is 934 right now.

sharon b 08-20-2009 07:41 AM

hey I think I am figuring this out... 9:30 your time was 11:30 my time :?

cutebuns 08-20-2009 07:43 AM

yeah! someone has something! Time zones are in that big blank spot in my brain.

thimblebug6000 08-20-2009 05:18 PM

Here's kind of a fun site for time zones
http://www.world-time-zones.org/north-america.htm

thimblebug6000 08-20-2009 08:18 PM

Got my fabric cut tonight....
not sure about that other instruction......clean up ????

cutebuns 08-20-2009 08:22 PM

I know when I did a different mystery, I had to clean up my sewing room to be able to have enough room to work, it is a good thing that I don't have to sew it Sat as it is back to being a mess again and would need a few hours to clean it up to be able to work, it never fails, my cutting table always gathers stuff that it isn't supposed to have on it. I spent most of today out and now I am working at finishing something else up so I don't have anything bugging me Sat while I am playing with all of you.

DebJ 08-20-2009 08:54 PM

:D Well, I will just have to check back later. I want to do it because I haven't ever made a mini. I've done mysteries, their fun. So I would like to attempt my first mini also. I'll be looking forward to this. I've so much going on right now though, I don't know when I'll actually get to it, but I will, if I don't forget.

cutebuns 08-21-2009 03:17 PM

So the big day is tomorrow for those participating or spectating, both are welcome, I hope it all goes smoothly. I will be around all day to answer questions and just chat it up.

So if you don't have it cut out yet, and are participating, you might want to think about doing it now.

sewjoyce 08-21-2009 03:40 PM

Are you going to start a new thread tomorrow for the mini quilt instructions? I'll be gone all day

It is 24 inch square but they are 3" blocks so you can easily make up a few more blocks and make it bigger. Or just add some more borders,

If you need help doing it just let me know and I can help as we go along or later.

May I use it (if it is 24" square) as a center for one of my IRR2 groups?

cutebuns 08-21-2009 03:49 PM

sorry that you are going to miss it, yes I am going to start a new thread, two actually, one in tutorials for the instrustions and one out in main for all the chit chat in between, or maybe pictures, I hope people are willing to keep us up to what everything is looking like along that way. I am sure that either admin or one of the moderators will move me if it is in the wring place.

sewjoyce 08-21-2009 03:52 PM

Thanks -- I'll be looking for a new thread then tomorrow evening...Good luck with everything and I hope everyone has fun :D :D

cutebuns 08-21-2009 03:53 PM

you can use it for anything that you wish when you are done with it. I changed the border a bit on the one so it is a hair bigger than the 24 inches, but the other one is dead on that size.

omak 08-21-2009 04:01 PM

I don't understand why my puter hasn't been allowing me to follow this thread! <gasp>
Bless Miss Lacelady ... she asked if I was going to do it, and I was almost crushed thinking I was going to miss out .... HOWEVER! <g>
Since you will be starting at seven my time? don't worry ... thought that was what it was.
I never know time zones unless I am comparing them to Rush Limbaugh, so ... <g> ... as long as I am up and breathing, everything will be JUST fine!
See, I would ask you: What time does Rush Limbaugh come on in your time zone? Since I know he is on at noon in Florida/New York and nine where I live, if I know what time he comes on in your time zone, then I know how our times compare. I am thinking he comes on at ten in your listening area ...
Anyway, we go out to feed at six, (and, it is still pretty dark then ... I may have to give up my early morning ride with hubby ... bummer!) so I will be up at and 'em for the mystery at seven! Cutting fabric tonight ...
If I'm not there in the morning, I will be there when the sun comes up <g>

When we really get into it I will probably pop back here and leave a link to make it easy for those that will be looking for it

omak 08-21-2009 11:00 PM

All my pieces are cut ... well, except for one of the borders ... but, I will be getting up in the AM plenty early to pull that off.
I may go ahead at that time and take a snapshot of my fabric choices.
My thinking is: I will probably be making another one for my center, once I figure out what is going where <g> my imagination is limited. LOL

kwhite 08-22-2009 03:26 AM

I don't have a computer near my sewing room so I will be printing the instructions and working all alone. Or I might work on other things and just keep an eye on the goings on here. I am not sure yet how I will do it.

tlrnhi 08-22-2009 04:21 AM

Ok, somehow I missed this thread.
I'm just going to follow.
I have TOO many things to do at the moment.
I have FINALLY gotten to Patti's IRR that needs finishing and working on putting together the soft books for the craft fair. If I do one set a night, I'll have them done by end of Sept. Yes, I have THAT many, thanks to the wonderful ladies of this board! They are great sellers at craft fairs, at least they were for me!

omak 08-22-2009 05:55 AM

My DGD favorite item to peruse were the cloth books, and I was really surprised that she handled/s paper books with good respect.
An artist, a reader, and a cowboy girl <g> best combination for a kid, eh?
Sorry we won't be having Terri working with us, but she is always good for cheers and humor <g>.

Ninnie 08-22-2009 05:57 AM

I'm here and ready!!! :D :D
Got up early this morning and cut it out! :D

cutebuns 08-22-2009 06:00 AM

Nothing like waiting for the last minute right Ninnie!

omak 08-22-2009 06:10 AM

I am here ... heading over to recent topics to see what is going on <wave> unless you lead me somewhere else.

thimblebug6000 08-22-2009 06:12 AM

Just checking in to see if there's a new thread or not, coffee is on!

cutebuns 08-22-2009 06:13 AM
