Just wondering, do you really need a fax? Eliminate that feature and your options may increase.

I love my HP printer and it does print on fabric, scan to my computer, prints in excellent color as well as burn to cds. The cartridges may be all little expensive compared to others but is worth it to me. junebug987

Just make sure that the new scanner is compatable with your name computer. When I got another computer the Lexmark was not compatable with my Dell, so had to buy a HP which was compatable. They should be able to help you at the store and shop around to get others shops input.

whichever printer you chose, factor in your ink costs. i have an epson all in one which i like but the ink cartridges can become expensive. my epson did not like the non-oem cartdiges (less expensive) so i had to go back to the genuine epson ink cartridges. at easily $16.00+ per ink cartridge (6 of them) you can see how ink can become a hugh expense.

if you will be using your printer for business also, you may want to look at how many pages it prints per minute, the print resolution, copy speed and clarity and for pics/recreation what type of display is available to view pics before printing them, photo manipulation capabilities, cd/dvd printing capabilities and other print capabilities. i can enlarge/shrink copies, save to a medium such as memory cards, discs, also have an option to do specialty printing. think about whether you want the convenience of wireless.

whatever printer you end up choosing, just know that you can always upgrade at a later date as you see how you will use it and what works or dont work for you, what features you need more of and the other costs of the printer such as ink usuage and cartridge cost. good luck with your decision.

I have a fairly new HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus and I LOVE it. I still haven't checked out all of its features. The ONLY thing I don't like is that when the black ink is low, it will not mix the other colors to make a blackish ink. My old Epson did. When this one wnats black, it means it. It is much easier to change the cartriges, tho.

I had two printers. Both HP. ONe is a 4 in 1 and it was awesome. It worked for years and finally broke down this last spring. So I only have my big one which I got for printing out scrapbook 12 X 12 pages. It does not scan or fax. I miss those features. But I don't have space to put another printer in this room.

Has to be an Inkjet for printing on quilts. The other will not work as a permanent quilt block.

Haven't read all the posts but I love my Kodak all in one.

I have used an HP and an Epson (current) all in one (copy, scan, print). Definitely agree with QandE2010 about checking the price of cartridges. They are all pretty expensive, though I believe Costco and Walgreens do refills for HP cartridges. Try to find a Consumer Reports magazine and see what they recommend.

As a rule we have always purchased HP products, however the last printer scanner I purchased was an Epson, it was priced well used individual cartridges for ink (4 total) which can be changed out individually, it has well priced ink refills compared to the hp and I love it It has the option to print double sided as well as selecting individual pages and properties such as black and greyscale when I don't need to print in color:)
