Very Cute! I would not tack the points down either. Little fingers will love to grab them and play, even chew on them.

This is common with the prairie points. I believe this is why you seldom see prairie points on quilts anymore. Cute quilt.

Just feel the need to share a word of caution: Our guild donates quilts for charity and we were told NOT to hand tie baby quilts because the knots can loosen up and swallowing the threads can be a choking hazard. I doubt that chewing on the fabric of the prairie points would be dangerous.

Really a cute baby quilt. I would not worry about the prairie points

What a fun quilt! I'd leave the prarie points alone and not worry about them. The baby will love playing wuth them.

I would be afraid that if you "tacked" the P-points down, as some have suggested on here, that a baby would try tugging on them and pull the tacking out, and possibly tear a hole in the quilt.

I would just leave them and let the baby play with them.

I agree that babies love prairie points as something tactile to enjoy. I had to laugh, though, about the having to iron the points down - a friend of mine made a generous queen sized quilt and she tacked down the points using a decorative "doodad" stitch on her machine so she wouldn't have to iron them down.

Examples of a "doodad" stitch would be a single duck, an eyehole (as for a belt), and similar - checkout your machine to see what it has.

I think if I had to have it lay down a little, I would put a little square of Steam A Seam lite and iron under each of them.

I had the same issue with the quilt I made my DGD, Samantha. She loves to play with the prairie points and I'm so glad they don't lay flat. :)
