where do you get the 144 box?

I found in my Elna 7300 that the pre-wounds, while great for not having to change so often, were just a hair too small for the bobbin case and made a lot of chatter noise while stitching. It was enough to drive me crazy so now the pre-wounds only go in my embroidery machine. You can go to Superior Threads website and purchase just about any kind of thread on a pre-wound that you want.

Use to be that poly thread was thought to be bad for cotton fabric. The way fabric and thread is made today that no longer is a worry. The name brand thread/fabric companies all agree on that. I use poly thread in my bobbin and love the prewound bobbins. I buy them by the case from Shoppers Rule. I also like the Superior Super Bobs and Frosties. Most of the quality bobbin threads are poly filament. Spun poly isn't as strong. Fil Tec is the manufacturer of most all the pre wound bobbins. I bought a huge cone of bobbin thread from Fil Tec and many times I use it for top and bottom piecing.

The time saved using pre wound bobbins is the main reason I use them.

Every year, at the Pacific International Quilt Festival, I go seeking out prewounds because a) they are really a good value (80-92 yds per bobbin!) and b) they are a time saver for me. I buy neutrals because I use them ALOT in my piecing. LOVE prewounds!

I have always used prewounds, love them. I toss them after as I dont like to wind my own.
I go to Allstitch to get mine, they are fast shippers and the prices is great.

QuiltNnan, my question was to you. Is that photo you are showing a pieced block. I love it. I do mostly piecing on my quilts.
