2nd group if you are buying for someone else!

I lean more toward the second group. It is what I'd like for stained glass effect!

I love them but I would choose the first ones,
assortment #37. They have more color, more life. The second set are almost solid and so could be substituted for with other fabric. If I could, I'd buy the entire first set (37)

I would use both, but for different reasons! They are all gorgeous (so I am of NO help) LOL!

I like the watercolors. The Mottles are too mottled for me.

I agree - I'd start with something from the first group as a focus fabric, then use complementary or contrasting fabrics from the second group.

If I were forced to choose one, I'd take the watercolors. I love them on their own, but I also use them as blenders and "solids".

I love both, but I think I would be more likely to buy the watercolors. As others have said, it really depends on what I need/want them for.

I absolutely love batiks! I lean toward the impressionists in painting, and love the illusion of randomness yet balanced color that the batiks give. They can be a challenge to use together, but since I love color, I will gladly take the challenge on.

It would depend on the project..batiks are like yummy pots of paint.

If I had to make a choice right now it would be the watercolors.

And I love the mottles as they are much more versatile in my opinion.

They each have a distintive look you need some of each

I like the Mottles better, but have so many of them. Need to expand my stash of bakits to include more of the Watercolors.

I think it would depend what I would be planning on using the fabric for. I really like both. :)

watercolors are a favorite of mine too... I just love the depth they add to a project
