Which would you personally find easier to use and/or more appealing?
Mottles: http://www.hoffmanfabrics.com/SuperS...ssortmentID=37 or watercolors? http://www.hoffmanfabrics.com/SuperS...ssortmentID=36 |
i lean more towards the first group, i like earthy colors
I love batiks, I like them both! I guess it would depend on the project.
neither. I don't like batik.
depends on the project. but I have bought both. and will always buy both.
I love them both and have bought both. It depends on the project. They both have their uses.
hands down, the 1895 watercolors!
I think that I need to stop looking at your sight it makes me depressed. I want soooooo many of the batiks its sad.
Love them both, can't choose- thanks for the eye candy!! :D
1895 all the way
i buy it by the bolt |
It would totally depend upon the project and the effect you want.
Love them, want them. I would buy the mottles first, if I had the $$$! |
Easy ... If I had one of every other watercolor in my stash I would find a use for them long before I found a use for the same number of the mottles shown.
I think a large part of each persons answer will be how they intend on using them. The Mottles have other colors introduced and the color change area is fairly large. My favorite style of quiltes are in small - very small pieces, so I have little use for large prints. |
Water colors, water colors, water colors.
Watercolors - I love them!
I pick the watercolors, too altho I do like them both. But if I were buying...it would be the latter choice. Hard decisions for you.
first ones. have a great feeling of depth.
1895's all the way.
I love the watercolors. The others are too "blotchy" for my personal taste if pieces are larger than an inch or two.
I like 'em all!!!!
The 1895's are more versitile ( a batik blender) , They more of a basic than the other. But the other one is pretty irresistable.
I would probably buy the mottles first, but would buy both. Love batiks.
I like both but will say i'm partial to the watercolors.
I vote Mottles . Strong and bold. Yes!!!!!!

I buy a lot of batiks, mostly the water colors. But I do like the others as well.
Watercolors, hands down over the mottles...I want to choose my own color combos, not leave it up to someone in Indonesia. That said, I don't buy watercolors much at all...the variation of pattern is too large for my taste, even if it is all the same hue.
I would prefer the watercolors. Much softer colors.
I really like both of them so it would depend on the project.
Love them both, but as far as versatility the watercolors would be more useable to me.
there is more character in the first one. You can do alot more with it.
Another vote for Watercolors. :-D

I really like the Watercolors. So many choices
I like the watercolors best.

The watercolors are like staples to me....solids. I LOVE all Batiks! The first group is gorgeous though!
I prefer the 2nd, because they're closer to the "real" color. The 1ist group uses a lot of other colors in with the mail one to get the effect they want. That's just me, though...
I like both.
watercolors for me
I like em both, but if I had to pick, I'd say the mottles
