I hate to be the kill joy in this wonderful find but be very careful of insects. Bedbugs in particular. I just had my first experience with them, fortunately they didn't get to the house but It would have been a disaster. I bought some beads at a yard sale. They were so organized and there were 4 big boxes of them.

The owner was a smoker and I didn't want the smell in the house so I took them to an out building I have, till I looked at them and figured out how I was going to get the smoke smell out of the boxes. I looked closer and there were bugs in the corners of the boxes. Just a few but when I dumped them into another box I could see they were bedbugs!!!!!

I got rid of the boxes and the beads are still in the out building in their glass jars. There were hundreds of jars of beads. I just can't bring myself to get rid of them but I am reluctant to bring even the glass jars in yet.

If I had taken them directly to my sewing room..................

This is the kind of jackpot I'd love to win. Have fun.

Would be jealous, but I am just too happy for you!!! I would take it all, and go through it, and then you can donate/sell,etc. whatever you don't need/will use...as you said he was going to donate what you didn't take anyway...

Sounds like a lottery winner. Have a good time. Sue

Wow you hit the lottery and didn't even have to buy a ticket. I would only take what I thought I could use unless he wants someone to take it all and distribute it accordingly. He may be overwhemed by the whole process so he may really want some help. I would listen to him and do what you think will be what he needs. Also you can go through the piles and donate what you don't need if it will help. I agree with those that say, if you don't need it, don't store it, let someone use it that can.

That is wonderful I would take everything and teh rest could be donated to a local guild that does charity quilts. We had a lady donate alot to our guild and it was distributed to members includidng doll bodies that members can use for other groups that they belong too that do charity work
