Thanks for all the replies to my question. Yet another reason why I like this Board so much....so willing to help out. I don't know what I'm going to do with the fabric yet....just look at and touch for a while....let it age a bit. Didn't my son do a good job picking it out for me? BTW, he also found a small pair of vintage Solingen scissors for me at a flea market in one of the small towns. They're old but still super sharp. I had researched Solingen, Germany earlier and learned that they manufacture some of the best cutlery in the world. I can well believe that judging from the several I have.

Your son did grrrreat! I'm surprised that quilting was not in his vocabulary. When I visited my family a month ago, I made sure that quilting terms were part of the discussion. lol

Beautiful fabrics. I wish there was a conversion chart for prices and yardage. Your son did a fantastic job. Better he was there than me... I would have a serious problem getting fabric back home.... lol

Those fabrics are so pretty. I am encouraged about finding some fabrics in Germany One of two of my Pfaff machines are from there. In a few weeks, I will be traveling there and of course, want to purchase fabrics. I got some beautiful ones from Alaska last year.
