No question that she is a very sweet and caring person. I met her once at a show in Columbus, OH. She took the time to speak to everyone who dropped by her booth, and answered any and all questions. Her son was there too. I liked them both, instantly.
I don't think anyone on this board meant to knock Eleanor, just teasing about the "make a quilt in a day thing."

No, I was by means knocking Eleanor. I love her books as I have 3-4 of them. I was only speaking of myself being slow.

I loved the name of Thimblebug6000's quilt, "It's been a long day." How very appropriate. Boy can I relate to that. I named one of mine, "Slow as Molasses", as it took me forever to finish it.
Joy, you're not alone in the time it takes you to complete a quilt, you're just joining an elite, extensive group. Welcome!!

I don't beleive there is such a thing as "quilt in a day". I made a crib size top in a day (actually about 5 hours if you don't count cutting out 2 1/2 in strips). But it has taken me 4 more days to apply borders, sandwich it, pin baste it, quilt it, remove the pins, apply binding. But hey it is done now and besides it has been too cold to do anything else this week. :)

Absolutely, she is fantastic. I think we were joking that we aren't quite as fast as her and it took us longer. I know those tops can be done in a day - if you take a class or something. I would love to take a class with her. My friends have taken her classes and say she is great. She was in Tulsa for an event and took the time to go out to the Log Cabin because she had heard so much about it. She made a special trip out there and met the owner and another good friend of mine. Did pics, the whole bit. Very warm and caring person.

I never get it done as quick as they say. I usually take it home in pieces and finish it there. lol. Guess I'm not the only slow quilter after all. :)

Takes me a day to angst about which quilt pattern. Too much choice!

Elanors First Log Cabin Quilt in A Day is doable but I do not like the logs that wide...
