that girl is definitely the result of bad parenting! Wasnt she taught any manners? how rude!!!

This is the same type of person you see on the road doing whatever they want and expecting you to move out of their way. Know it alls, who actually know nothing. Sad, but so many young people have this same arogant attitude and they are now also moving into the work world and think us old timers are the dumbest people ever to grace the planet. Others will put this one in her place....of which, you did a great job.
Keep your friend, I'm sure she was upset how you were treated.

I have to say congratulations to you for being able to give this little upstart a lesson in politeness and respect. She needs to learn manners of behavior when at the home of someone she does not know.

WOW what nerve of that "young" person was she raised by wolves???? I do believe I would have shown her the door sooner. But sounds like you were raised better than that. That was when manners counted or else :) Good for you in correcting her.

I admire the the way you dealt with her rudeness. She needed to hear the things you said to her. I would hope I would have had the presence of mind say them. But I think I might have been so taken aback that I wouldn't be able to think of an appropriate response. Good for you.

You are much nicer than me. I have spent my life biting my tongue when I wanted to say something to someone rude. I hit 65 and all that "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" went flying out the window. I finally got tired of rude people and don't mind telling them so.

Nona 10-21-2011 03:51 PM

you were certainly nicer than I would have been. If I didn't sic the dogs on her, I would have booted her out of my house literally.

As others have stated, you handled this with grace and patience.I don't think I would have done so well. All this person did was show how rude and ignorant she is. How dare she come into your home and insult you like that. But it sounds like you are a confident "Lady" and will survive this outrage.
I hope your friend comes back. As you said we can't help to whom we are related.Thank goodness we can pick our friends and you have lots here. Happy Quilting.

You are filled with dignity and grace....i'm quiet sure my response may have landed me in jail.
