Praise the Lord someone else who gets it. Regarding the sewing I just love the anal behavior and rudeness of the I know best- met many- some who believed I was too young to have done what I have and others who plain had no clue but it must be so easy.
regarding educators- have had our share of those who have many opinions and no real knowledge. Even some who had kids who felt they knew best butbecause they were too busy having their career they didn't have time to notice their own kids. There is a huge diffence between girls and boys no matter how you sliice it and kids are not a one size fits all when you teach or parent.

Y'know, there's an old saying: Those who can, do. Those who can't, "join the quilt police"...apologies to the originator of this saying, but I like my version better!
I'm sorry you had to listen to all that bashing, but wow! what a comeback you made!

People generally tear other people down to raise themselves up. It doesn't work, it only makes them look foolish. Some people just have to try to make people think they are superior, the sad thing is that others less secure than yourself are deeply hurt by them. They are generally very miserable people and want others to be also. Good for you to show such class yet still not be a doormat.

Any one who has kids spends time eating the words, "I'd never let my kids do that" to find out their kids did that and you just didn't know about it.

Good for you, for standing your ground and not letting this boorish woman intimidate you! She has a LOT to learn!

Can't imagine someone being that rude. Where does she get off, saying anything since she doesn't even sew? Hard to understand people.

I agree. I probably would not have been that polite.

Sounds like material for a TV sitcom. Who would you have play the three parts???

I think you handled the situtation perfectly, without losing your cool. I would have booted her out in the first ten minutes!
