I always enjoy shopping or browsing at the Stitchin Post in Sisters, OR or Fabric Depot in Portland, BJ's Quilt shop in Bend and Material Girl Fabrics in Redmond, Oregon. All are great. Wonderful fabrics and lots to look at!

Fabric Depot and Joanns Fabric

My favorite is "Needle in a Haystack" in Severy, Ks. It is located outside Wichita and we stop there everytime we are in the area.
It isn't a great big store, but she has it laid out so you can find things so easily. Her prices are about as reasonable as anywhere, and you get good service.
Missouri Star Quilt So. is hard to beat for online. I love their tutorials, deal of the days, and just general something always to see on their site.

I wish I could add to the shops listed but we don't have a LQS. I'm jealous of all of you.

There are a lot of online stores here in Canada. Though I have not spotted any with super wonderful pricing, especially when you add in the shipping fees. That's often what kills it as being desirable.

I don't online shop as I like touchy-feely to know what I am getting for quality of fabric, colour, scale of design etc. Instead I keep an eye out as to what different LQS' specialize in re fabrics, notions, etc. While it may not be available to me locally, I know where I am most likely to find it when I want it. If it's a distance, I will phone/email ahead to check on the probability, to make sure.

Yes indeed, check out The Marsh Store, definitely worth the drive (wherever you are from). :) A big selection and if you don't see it, ask ... as you can easily miss something that is there. They know their stock and can usually put their hands on it. While they aren't an online store, they are very obliging. I once spotted a few fabrics on their website that I wanted and they sent me some better pics. I ordered, and they shipped them to me.

My fav would be any one we have, which we don't. I can drive 45 minutes to hobby lobby in one town or an hour to hancocks or Joann's in another, or 50 minutes to sew delightful in Tuskaloosa. Here in town only Walmart has fabric, just put the department back so it is still small. I shop one line a lot.

For big stores, absolutely its Fabric Depot in Portland. But outside Salem, in Dallas, Oregon, is a little quilt shop called 'Grandma's Attic', and it's a wonder for the eyes and the ears. They play old music, and not only have wonderful fabrics, kits, precuts, trims, books, etc., but also lots of other 'pretties'....tea pots, embroidery, tea towels, and loads of other things. LOVE that shop! Now I've talked myself into making a trip over there again....oh darn! : )

My very favorite is Sisters in Quilting in Marlette, MI. She does day retreats bi-monthly and serves homemade cinnamon rolls and coffee for breakfast and home made lunch and dinner all for the cost of $20 and that is a full day of sewing and any help you may need and lots of good company. She makes you feel like a very close friend after you leave one of her retreats and did I mention you get a 15% discount plus full access to the store all day. You never have the feeling that you are being watched just a lot of fun. My only regret but maybe this is a good thing she is an hour away in good weather.
