The word is FREE. However, if you have a smart phone you are already paying more for the service anyway as that is the pricing. So, yeah the apps are "free' but the overall cost is much more than a not-so-smart phone.

I'm good with the calculator on my old nssmart phone and have paper and pen in my purse.

Most of the apps listed here have been for iPad/iPhone and other really fancy phones. Do any of the apps work for the not so fancy Samsungs, etc that are 3G?
