Such good company we share! I, too, have many UFOs and PIGS (which I don't count unless I have started LOL) but my first order of business is beginning and finishing a baby quilt for our newest grandson due Feb. 2nd. Didn't get a start on it yet due to medical issues, travel and Christmas gifts to finish. Once that is done, it is clean up and reorganize the sewing room. Normally I am pretty organized but things have piled up over the last year, and now things from the guest room have piled in there from having company the last week for Christmas. Onward and upward in the New Year.

My guild challenge this year is to finish 6 UFOs. I will retire next week and will have time for this plus all the other quilts in my mind. Hopefully these new ones will use a lot of my stash without having to purchase more than batting. Wish me luck. I sure have a hard time sticking to these plans.
Happy new year |
I am saying No to all those email quilt posts, free block of the "week, month.... I am overwhelmed each morning just checking my emails. I keep downloading free blocks and patterns. Most -- all of them -- I did not even start last year. I have started unsubscribing. Amazing how many Merry Christmas, Happy New Year messages I have received to "really just support and buy more." I don't even want to think about organizing pics, tutorials, patterns, etc. that I have stored besides the bookmarks, favorites, facebook, instagram.

Goal: recommit to keeping my obligations. Finishing a friends quilt, making potholders for the no kill shelter, baby quilts for our local hospital and the Pregnancy Crisis Center............somehow workin one of my over 30+ UFO's, {I know I'm bad} and say NO< NO<NO< to anyone else pushing for something to be done that I don't want to do!!!

I am starting a quilt for my BIL on the first. After that what ever calls the loudest. I will not listen to people telling I shouldn’t start something new. I have 8 UFO’s and only one of them is over 2 years old. I have 2 quilts I want to get done, the one for my BIL and Halo for my newly painted bedroom. I think I better add my oldest granddaughter’s graduation quilt

Good for you! I've been there, making for everyone else & putting mine aside, yet wanting so badly to work on something for us. Now, my quilted gifts could be given any time, "just because", and made between doing quilts I want to make for us. I think sometimes they feel even more blessed with my quilts when I give them that way. :-)

I also decided not to save scraps any more. It takes me much longer to sew a top with scraps than yardage. I don't want to pass away leaving beautiful fabric on shelves while I sewed little pieces into quilts. |
I would like to finish some of the pretty UFOs I have, and would love to use up a bunch of stash... or sell it. Some of my fabrics have been with me for years and I don't love them like I once did. I resolve to sew only with stuff I love, patterns I love, etc. And if I want to start a new quilt before finishing UFOs, I will. This is my fun and I want to keep it that way. :o
Also I'd like to use up more of my precuts. |

I resolve to not worry about unfinished projects. If I want to start something new, I will. I do not know how many years I have left, and when I go someone will pick up the gauntlet.
I also will not feel guilty about buying more batiks. I love them, and when I have the $$ I will get some. I want to create a travel wardrobe of mix and match clothes for an upcoming trip. I bought fabrics for a Halloween quilt and may try to have it made for next October. |
My goal is to spend at least an hour a day in my sewing room -- cleaning and organizing at first, then sewing. Unfortunately, life happens but if I skip a day I will try to make up the next.
